Because factors such as satisfaction depend on not deceiving conventional truths, it is a valid cognition. The other case is that it is not a valid cognition because it lacks such habitual imprints, which is faultless. Then, how does inferring the cause from the effect come about? Why does it not come about? Because the consciousness of space only appeared previously, and later it appeared as fire. There, from the consciousness of space, there was no prior experience. Therefore, smoke only arises from fire. So how does it infer fire? This fault is nonexistent. Only the mindstream that possesses the distinction of habitual imprints that generate the consciousness of the aspect of fire generates the intellect that perceives smoke. It is not just anything that can do so. Therefore, the consciousness of smoke that understands it makes the habitual imprints of the knower clearly awaken, thereby understanding that the intellect of the aspect of fire will arise. Here, it is inferring from the dharma of the cause, just as inferring colors etc. from tastes etc., and should not be disputed. The statement "also" etc. is to explain the distinctions of the knowable etc., combining the words "what is the appearance of this?" In order to establish that one's own part is a valid cognition. Here, the appearance of the object should be understood. The so-called "that which is to be measured" means that the appearance of the object is the knowable. Valid cognition and the fruit itself are the consciousness of the aspect of the grasper. That is to say, the aspect of the grasper is the valid cognition itself, and accurate knowledge is the fruit itself. Here, even if the sound of accurate knowledge is very small, even so, because the aspect of the grasper is the valid cognition itself, it is also treated from the perspective of needing to be particularly understood, therefore it is worthy of offering. Therefore, the sound of the aspect of the grasper must first be determined. Therefore, "these three are not separate," meaning that all three are not completely established as that nature, therefore they cannot be separated from consciousness. Here, if the second mode is promised and self-awareness is said to be the result, then the second mode of consciousness itself will not arise, because that is without reason.

Having thought, he asked: "If it is said to be the second way, and so on." Why should one ask about the third way, but instead ask about the second way? It is because it is considered that if the second way is established, self-cognition will also be established. If the second way is established, then the object that is the same as oneself can be correctly cognized by knowledge, so in effect, self-cognition is established. "In the cognition of an object, from the difference of that cognition," and so on. Cognition of an object is the aspect of consciousness, such as the eye, that grasps forms and so on. In the cognition of an object, that cognition refers to that cognition in the cognition of an object. Here, if the word "that" is connected to the cognition of an object, then it becomes a meaningless close-taking, because even without "that," the cognition that focuses on the cognition of an object can be understood. Therefore, the word "that" should be connected to the object from the perspective of close-taking, even if it becomes a quality, because there is nothing else that is more suitable for the context here. Therefore, this will say: the cognition of an object is the cognition of the aspect of an object, and that is the difference. In this way, it is more superior than the cognition of an object, because it has the aspect of an object. This is said according to the opponent's thought, and the opponent believes that the cognition of an object only has the aspect of experience. And its cognition also has the aspect of experience. Here, the aspect of mental experience itself is established, so there is no need to prove it, because there is no opponent who thinks that what is known is not the nature of knowledge. The aspect of the object is not established in the opponent's view, so the second way should be proved. "For the object," and so on. The word "ni" is used to determine holding, and the order is also different. "That is meaning and self-appearance" This is the result of valid cognition, in which meaning appearance is the aspect of the object, and self-appearance is the aspect of experience. "The appearance of knowledge that is in accordance with the object" refers to the knowledge that is in accordance with the object, such as forms, which is only the knowledge of the object, and that is the appearance, meaning the aspect of the object knowledge that has the aspect of the object. This refers to the object knowledge that has the aspect of the object.
