In considering, if it is thought that blue and other things are no different from "what is apprehended by the eye," then from this, the expression of the word "form" will also become non-different. This is the meaning of "what is the nature of form itself?" As for "if" and so on, the intention is: the powers of things are all different. Therefore, the nature of form is the reason for the application of non-different expression, because what is apprehended by the eye is related to the nature of form. Even so, through "even so" and so on, it is stated that it contradicts the commitment, because fusion and aggregation are considered to be permanent. Even so, it is not said that the nature of form is fusion and aggregation because it is what is apprehended by the eye, but rather it is said that fusion and aggregation themselves are manifest. Therefore, it is said, "the nature of form is manifest," which should be understood as being obtained through action. This also shows a contradiction with the commitment, because it is committed that the nature of form and so on are manifested through their own basis. As for "what is apprehended by the eye also," if there is a difference in nature, why does what is apprehended by the eye only apply to blue and so on, and not to taste and so on? The definite reason for this should also be stated. Therefore, without a doubt, even if one goes to a very distant place, one should rely on nature itself, that is, by what does it become what is apprehended by the eye, while taste and so on are not, this is not the nature of blue and so on. By "as you think, so do I," the same argument is answered. "Substance and so on will also have the same consequence," meaning: if whatever is apprehended by the eye is the nature of form, then substance and so on will also become the nature of form, because they are also what is apprehended by the eye. Because the nature of substance, number, measure, and having individuality, as well as various classifications, as well as otherness and non-otherness, and action is the cause of fusion and aggregation with colored objects, therefore they are what is apprehended by the eye. This is the meaning of the verse. "Non-white and so on are no different," meaning the definite reason is what is apprehended by the eye.

Because there is no difference in the nature of being seen, and because there is no other definitive cause, because the expression cognition of "is form" is the same, blue and yellow, etc., will not be different. If, because they are objects to be seen by the eye, one considers that blue, etc., are not different from the nature of form, then, because they are objects to be seen by the eye, even if that which is without distinction exists, it is not possible to become distinct from possessing blue, etc., because it is merely not possessing that. For blue, etc., from where do blue, etc., coincide, gather, and become definite, and is there even a slight cause that is definitely separate? There is not. If one says that there is a cause of different abilities, then, for that, what cause is there that leads it to enter only one of them, and not all the others? This is the answer. Therefore, without a doubt, because the nature of being seen by the eye is not a rational reason from the perspective of possessing the nature of form, therefore, from necessarily combining the absence of the nature of being seen by the eye, only blue, etc., follow the sound of "form" that is prevalent in the world, but not for taste, etc. The reason for fame is also merely the commonality that exists conventionally, not the real existence, this is his thought. Again, in order to show that the word "etc." can understand its own meaning by turning back from other meanings, he said, "If again," etc. It can be established from the mere fact of following. It means that if one does not rely on returning from other meanings, a special expression can be determined only from the mere fact of following, but not from things that exist simultaneously with following and returning. Even if it changes like that, even if one allows it to change, what harm is there in that? Therefore, he said, "Wanting," etc. "Wanting to obtain the excellence of the author" means that it is only the author, not the non-author, the sound of the author can distinguish the non-author, and the excellent wanting is related to its own meaning. Similarly, wanting to obtain the very excellent one, it is only wanting to obtain the very excellent one, not not wanting to obtain the very excellent one.
