Because of the commonality of appearance, one understands impermanence and so on. Like this, through the cause of distinguishing other sounds, the nature of the difference in the aspect of discernment that arises is expressed in sound as its own generality. It is through this that the meaning of sound is understood, not through its own characteristics, because that has not been seen before. This is what is said. In order to be able to distinguish the singularity and multiplicity of sounds, it is proclaimed, i.e., "here" and so on. Here, i.e., for sound, it should also be recognized here that when hearing sounds such as Asha (Tibetan), one may have doubts about what is to be expressed, such as the parts of a chariot. The mention of "etc." also includes Barura (Tibetan) and so on. Here, the sound itself is singular. A single sound is associated with multiple meanings, thus becoming the source of doubt. Therefore, just as doing something for others, things associated with vows, because they are the source of doubt, should be understood as "one." From multiple sounds, doubt arises. For example, hearing the sound of Bawati (Tibetan) and so on, doubt arises due to similarity: Is this the form of the seventh case singular word with the ending of Shatri (Tibetan)? Or the ending of Ting (Tibetan)? Or is it Potada (Tibetan)? Similarly, when saying "Asha" (Tibetan), doubt also arises: Is this the word with the ending of the sixth case? Or the ending of the middle person singular word of Lota (Tibetan)? For such cases, even if the sounds are the same, the difference in sounds should be observed. If asked: In what situation, how to observe? The answer is: For example, "Ga Ai Ha" (Tibetan) and so on. Here, when gathered together, there will be doubt about the nature of the sound: Is this the ending of the first case, or the ending of the seventh case? Therefore, non-singularity is also established. Like this, since doubt arises for both worldly things and sounds, one should recognize sameness and difference. Also, "how" and so on, i.e., by distinguishing the meanings of other sounds, to explain the way of expressing one's own meaning as mentioned before. For this view, from where was this statement accepted? For these four views, how can those faults mentioned before be eliminated? This is asking. "Sound is not seen in other meanings," meaning that mentioning the meaning of sound is to indicate that the inconsistent aspect is close.

Eh, this is because the inconsistent aspects are not seen. Because it is seen in the part of its own meaning. Here it refers to the respective meanings. What is this again? It is the collection of beings who wish to express. Its part is the branch, that is, the being who wishes to express. 'Part also' means that these who wish to express are categories. It is said that even if the parts of its own meaning, as mentioned above, are infinite, even so, it is because one is seen, the word 'also' is to clarify that it is also so for many. To be pervasive with the consistent aspect is because it is not a branch for what can be understood, so the part is mentioned, even if it is not pervasive, it is to make people understand. The connection of sound is easy. Because of the reason mentioned above. There is no permeability. Because if there is no self-meaning, there is none. 'Following and contradicting' etc., is to clarify this meaning. The door is the method. The reason why sound is a sign is because it makes people understand through the power of the connection of the characteristics of following and contradicting. 'Those also' refers to the essence of approaching the description of following and contradicting, that is, the sign only applies to things that are similar to it, and does not apply to things that are not similar to it, this is the self-essence of following and contradicting. For things that are similar to it, it is not necessarily so, this certainty does not refer to applying to all things of the same kind. Why? Because it says 'in some' etc. It is impossible for the sound of trees etc. to be seen in all trees etc., because they are infinite. Conventional sounds may be seen in all, because its object is unique, so it says 'in some'. Thus, for the time being, following is easy to explain. Even so, because things that are not similar to it are infinite, the explanation of contradiction cannot be realized in all. Therefore it says 'For dissimilar things, even if there is infinity', those things that have no meaning of sound are infinite.
