Others do not make such distinctions, believing that only the image in the mind can be the object to be interpreted. At the time of convention and naming, the object that appears and needs to be distinguished is the same. Therefore, according to their own ideas, they call "other-exclusion" the object of the external realm. However, when thinking about its truth, the wise do not think that they are not different because there are various different appearances and so on. Furthermore, in order to explain that the mind that produces the appearance of non-difference relies only on "other-exclusion", it is said that the object of sound is "other-exclusion", which is not contradictory to the existence of things themselves. As the object on which similar minds depend, it is not contradictory to "other-exclusion". Therefore, it is precisely because of the same result that the differences separated from things that are not this result are transformed into the cause of habits with deceptive results through personal experience, and produce subsequent minds related to the general image. This is what is to be explained. To this, the universalists will refute: If a tree is different from non-trees, then at the time of convention, since there is no attachment to non-trees, it is impossible to understand it in this way; moreover, a person who does not know trees does not fully understand the essence of distinguishing them, that is, non-trees. If asked "What is a non-tree", the answer is "Whatever is not a tree"; if asked "What is a tree", the answer is "Whatever is not a non-tree", which commits the fault of mutual dependence. Therefore, it is impossible to name things that do not reside in the mind by excluding others. When naming their commonality, either non-trees are distinguished, or they are not. If they are distinguished, then there was no attachment to trees before, so how can they be recognized? At that time, the knower is not approaching the search for its meaning because he knows trees, but only in order to know trees and non-trees. How can a person who does not know understand the distinction of non-trees when naming? If one does not understand, then it is unreasonable to completely abandon it and enter into naming from the sound set up without distinguishing others, just like distinguishing trees and shawa, etc. Whatever
