"Depending on the meaning of external objects" and so on. If asked how it depends on the meaning of external objects, it is said, "Because of what" and so on. Saying external objects refers to focusing the mind solely on the existence and non-existence of a pot and the sky. Therefore, it is said, "What is made as permanent does not exist at all," meaning that there is no made thing that is separate from impermanence. This explains the reverse relationship. And "Impermanence also exists, like a pot," this also explains the forward relationship. Depending on the forward and reverse relationships, in order to show this, like the sky and like a pot, merely taking one aspect as an example to approach, so according to my way, approaching the sky and so on is reasonable. Approaching in that way is also unreasonable, because the example is not just an example. Again, saying "only from," from approaching the reasoning, restating the pledge is the conclusion, this is the statement in the scripture. From definitely showing the reasoning, immediately, meaning that it is prior. For example, therefore, because it is made, sound is impermanent. This shows that one's own words alone eliminate the other limbs of the conclusion. If restating is another limb, then stating not once is, and it will become limitless. Some people answer this question by saying: The clear statement of the meaning to be proven is the pledge, which should be shown by the domain of reasoning. The meaning of the established nature, which becomes the fruit of proving, is accomplished by the conclusion. Therefore, there is no restatement. That is unreasonable, if stating the established nature, then proving is unreasonable, for example, like "sound should be heard." Even so, proving is the limb, and the pledge disappears. Others show very well in other ways that the conclusion is another limb, sound is impermanent, this pledge is the body, because it is made, this reasoning is the subsequent inference. The example like a pot is direct perception. How like a pot, because it is made, it is im-

Saying "sound" in this way is approximation, and this is approximate measurement. In order to know that these four valid cognitions are of the same object, it is concluded by saying: Therefore, because it is a product, it is impermanent. This is also unreasonable. If understanding does not arise in another way, everything would be fine. Even without that, merely stating the connection related to the property of the subject can lead to understanding. Therefore, what is the necessity of this? This abandons the establishment of the proposition and approximation, etc. It has already been explained that the reasons and examples, etc., that are thoroughly examined by the opponent are not reasonable as parts of the establishment. Thus, it is unreasonable for the proposition, etc., to be merely temporarily established. Why? Because from the explanation in one object, it is said to be a conclusion, so the conclusion is unreasonable. 'Both being extremely established is an example,' wherever both are extremely established and certain, that is where both are extremely established. 'Both' refers to the reason and the proposition, etc., or their meaning. 'Space is like ashes,' this is for the first case. 'Even one aspect of language is not,' this is for the second case. Thus, according to both cases, the commitment is also lost. "Because of its qualities," the proposition and the reason, etc., are the nature of sound, and sound is also a quality of space. This is said from such a treatise. "Its qualities" refers to the qualities to be established and the qualities that establish, such as impermanence and being made, etc. Where are they extremely established? It means in things like pots, etc. "The part of language is unreasonable," as it is said, wanting to say together is the change of those who apply without difference when there is difference. It is also not the case that meaning and sound are applied without difference. "Because the concomitance is not stated," and so on. For example, the non-existence of our own reason would not arise, and this is shown with an example, but it is not so for each difference. From that, it is also a seeming example. "Like before," as it was said before, the two kinds of reversed concomitance, and the absence of concomitance also appears there.
