If there is no difference other than showing that it has the same properties as a pot, then all the properties of the pot will be transferred to sound. Such refutations will only become answers, and will only become rebuttals. The word "etc." refers to having the same properties, being similar, etc. For the induction of external things, this fallacy does not occur, because the places where they exist are not the same. They are not able to demonstrate the universality of these things. If... ( "ཅི་སྟེ་ཞེས་པ་" ), this is a statement of the second point of view. In "the nature of being made is established," the sentence "because it is the nature of being made," the particularity should be connected with the understanding arising from this, that is, because it is the nature of understanding. In order to illustrate this connection of particularity, by distinguishing other particularities, it is said: "It is made like a pot, but not like cloth, etc." "Particularity follows its own basis." It means: it is determined by its own basis. If it attaches to other bases, then it will only be generality, not particularity. Therefore, it is said: "Sound is not made like a pot." "Because it arises in a different way." It means: the pot arises from clay, etc., while sound arises from the correct combination of mouth, etc. Therefore, sound is not made like a pot. This is explained only by reason. This is also like the previous one, explaining that other limbs are damaged. If... ( "ཅི་སྟེ་ཞེས་པ་" ) etc., this is only denying that it is made. Then what is it? It is only negating non-fabrication. Then, what is the use of this? The answer is: in order to negate the permanence associated with it. That is, in order to negate the permanence associated with non-fabrication. For example, just like space, it is not non-fabricated, so it is also not permanent. The opposing side is also not possessed, that is, the opposing side, that is, non-fabrication, does not coexist with fabrication. Sound does not have room for this non-possession to exist. Universality should also be expressed by reason, that is, it should be expressed, which is derived from the word "also." Then, negating fabrication...

Is it not? The aspect relied upon by the statement "that which is made should be stated" is not. Then why is it summarized? It is because they think that the dharmas of things that exist in mutual exclusion, negating one of them is equivalent to establishing the other. Others say that the word "and" here means to separately examine. Why is it not possessed? Because it is said (in the scriptures) "if there is made-ness" and so on. If there is contradiction somewhere, then it is not possible to exist there. For example, just as fire has a cold touch, sound also has made-ness that contradicts non-made-ness, which is a contradiction of nature. If something is impossible to establish somewhere, then it should not be negated there. For example, just as it is impossible for a hand-held object to exist in the palm of the hand, it is also established that it is impossible for sound to have non-made-ness. The so-called "contradictory to pervasiveness" means collection. The so-called "existing together with non-made-ness," here too, it should be expressed by following the previous line of thought, through the non-apprehension of the two. There is a difference here, that is, for one party, "sound also has impermanence that contradicts permanence," this is the aspect of dharma; for the other party, "it is also established that it is impossible for sound to have permanence." "If it is also" and so on, it speaks of non-establishment. If similar dharmas are combined, then made-ness and impermanence can be established, but in this way, it does not possess dissimilar aspects. When permanence is negated only by combining dissimilar dharmas in order to establish impermanence, then both of these do not exist, therefore the reason is not established. "It can also be understood through difference," this means that it can also be understood through the uncommon. If this is not what is desired, it is because it has already been admitted that sound is impermanent. Furthermore, in order to establish impermanence, similarity is also needed, that is, sound is impermanent because it is audible. Because it is often seen that permanent dharmas such as space are not audible, so if it is said that sound is not inaudible, then since permanent dharmas such as space do not possess audibility, therefore by blocking permanence that exists together with inaudibility, impermanence can be established.
