It is impossible to accomplish just one entity. Therefore, it is said to be "like an example." Because fragments, mornings, etc., do not arise from outside of the differences. Because all the differences should be proven, there is no example. It is not reasonable to take only what should be proven as an example. Therefore, this is the fault of "the subject not being established" in the example. Well, fragments, mornings, etc., are established, so how is it that the subject is not established? It is true that it is established, but because the object to be proven by the reason is taken as a close object, and it is clearly pointed out that "there is nothing else," therefore, the subject is not established. What if it is not a close object? Even then, fragments, mornings, etc., will not become the previous nature, therefore, the three qualities themselves do not exist. Similarly, for the remaining things, that is, the entity of measure, fruit, and cause, and the things that enter through ability, and the things that possess various aspects of nature. For these, if the actual existence of the main thing itself is the object to be proven, that is also incorrect, because the object of valid cognition (pramāṇa) is not understood. Because there is no inference that has the object of the general characteristic. Like this and so on, by following the previous ones, how should it be reasonably explained that the reason, example, and close collection, etc., are unrelated? From the perspective of reason, that is unreasonable. Because there is the fault of being unestablished and contradictory. Among them, by possessing the aspect of measure, the differences should be proven to be the previous nature mixed in one cause. For example, sprouts, leaves, and trunks, etc., because they have complete change, are mixed in the cause of one grain. Just as soft and slender, etc., exist in semen and blood, so also the differences should arise mixed in some cause, and that is the main thing. Therefore, it is said, "It exists." This is also unestablished, because the differences are infinite. If it is said that eyes, etc., are completely contained by the genus, so they are measurable, that is not correct, because it is admitted that the genus is not other than the differences, therefore, the things related to the genus are infinite. After admitting...

The contradictions of cognition, etc., are the same as before. Grains, etc., are not established as one, and sprouts, etc., are not mixed with them, because they were not established before arising. Even if they exist, they will not arise, just like now. Even if it is admitted that the reason exists in the similar class, it is still uncertain, because the mixture of grains, etc., which have various prior causes such as seeds, is not seen, and pervasion cannot be established from unrelated things. Having the aspect of entering with power, it establishes that the differences are the prior cause of having one power. If the cause has the power of the effect, then the entry of the effect is seen, for example, when milk has the power of yogurt, it is like yogurt. The entry of greatness, etc., also exists, therefore, before entering, the power from which greatness, etc., arises later exists. That is also the main thing. Here, if it is thought that entering is the nature of action, then it is not established in the Sugatas, because it is accepted that all things are momentary. If arising is the nature of having a beginning and an end, or having the nature of arising and ceasing, then it is not established in the same way as the outsiders desire, because the outsiders desire that what previously existed appears as arising, and the self-nature that has not disappeared does not appear as ceasing. Such arising and ceasing are not accepted by the Sugatas either, so what is it? It is the nature of arising without arising and the disappearance of one's own essence. Then, if the general characteristic that one wants to express is not established, or if it is established, is the dispute that it is not established by distinguishing the specifics merely an inverted answer? If both are a small part of the general characteristic of the desired object, and are the cause of sounds such as arising and impermanence, like being made, etc., then it would be an inverted answer, but that is also not the case. Appearing and not appearing are also unreasonable for one's own essence that exists before and after, because just like the intermediate stage, entering does not...
