It abides in the particularity of accomplishing without deficiency, so what fault is there, one might say? If that is the case, and so on. For example, the indication of the meaning that one wants to prove, such as "sound is impermanent," is the thesis (dambca'). If that is so, then stating the unestablished reason and example would entail being a thesis. Well then, when proving that sound is permanent, and so on, the unestablished reason and the examples are not what one wants to prove, but only what one does not want to prove. So why is this becoming a thesis? Because the sound to be proven is limited by the conditions of action, and the conditions of action are also within the scope of the three times, therefore, in the case of proving permanence and so on, whatever is unestablished in the eyes of the opponent as the very nature of permanence and so on, stating such a thing in proximity becomes something to be proven, and the mind, etc., even if one does not want to prove that sound is permanent, etc., at the time of proving, it is only what should be proven, so stating it would entail being a thesis. If one says that the sound to be proven does not grasp everything that is slightly unestablished at that time, but only grasps the particularity that the opponent wants to prove, then how could merely stating the unestablished reason, etc., become a thesis? It should be said that not all statements of unestablished things are, because others besides the time of knowing do not become faults. In another way, all statements of unestablished things, such as rabbit horns, would become theses. Therefore, it should be considered that it does not become a fault except at the time of knowing. Even if it becomes a fault in that way, proving actions, etc., by one's own nature is abiding, and the condition of action is for action, therefore, having the nature of stating action, the sound to be proven does not cast away what is not to be proven. What the agent greatly desires is action, and at that time, one does not want to prove the unestablished reason, etc. There are also four kinds of tenets: the tenets of all tantras, and the tenets of each individual's

Doctrines, Occasional Doctrines, and Promised Doctrines. Among these, the doctrine of all tantras is that whatever meaning is mastered in all tantras, it does not contradict all tantras, such as saying that there exist valid cognitions that apprehend objects to be measured. A dharma that is established in one's own tantra but not established in another's tantra is the doctrine of each individual tantra, such as all being one or different, all being impermanent or permanent, and so on. When something is established, another form is established, that is the occasional doctrine, such as saying that the self of a non-sentient being enjoys the fruits after death, and there is no body arising there, then it is established that there is a self, and this will also be earlier than the body. To promise without investigation and to recognize its difference from it is the promised doctrine, that is, to promise without investigation and without clear indication, and to discern its difference, that is the promised doctrine, such as promising without investigation that there is a self, and discerning impermanence and so on. Therefore, in order to show that taking these four kinds of doctrines as occasions to show what is to be proven is a vow, only showing what has the characteristics of a doctrine is a vow, and others are not. Furthermore, a vow, a reason, an example, a connection, and a conclusion, in the case of the limbs of proof, whatever is the object of establishment is the limb to be proven, and because it is also understood through it that showing it is a vow. If it is said that unestablished reasons and so on are not the vow itself, then what is to be proven here is action, because in some ways everything is unestablished. Whatever is being proven and whatever will be proven is all just action, therefore, for the time being, the initial answer is not correct. Whatever is a limb of what is to be proven, showing it is called a vow, this is also not correct, because it is the nature of being previously unestablished. Whatever is previously to be proven or established is unestablished, from the words of the definition
