They state non-reason in the name of Dharma, what did they say? Because it is direct perception first, inference, approximation, and understanding of meaning are also not reasons. The recent Varsha also did not say it because it is very famous, if it is said that direct perception and other valid cognitions are very established, then this fault does not exist. Because it is not very established here, this has already been known by the sentence "many inverted cognitions". It is also not to say their definitions, from which one can know one's own nature. Because it is direct perception first, so in the name of Dharma as a non-reason, it is only to distinguish inference and so on, therefore it is not said. The interpreters clarify the intention of the speaker, they think that whatever is direct perception first, it is only to distinguish it as a valid cognition, therefore it is not said, this can also be understood as an intention. Otherwise, the previous one will not become an intention either. If other valid cognitions do not recognize their own nature, they cannot recognize it in the name of Dharma as a non-reason. Therefore, if it is explained for the purpose of fully recognizing one's own nature, then it will not be said either. Therefore, it is necessary to regard the one with direct perception first as a valid cognition, therefore it is not said, this can also be understood by the interpreters as the intention of the speaker. Apart from that, memory and so on will also become valid cognitions because they are direct perception first. Inference instruction and so on. The word "etc." includes approximation and understanding of meaning. Instruction is of two kinds: man-made and non-man-made. Here, the former is taken, because the other is not considered by the other party to be direct perception first. It has already been said "having an uncommon object", the Dharma having multiple self-natures is:

Here, it has been proven that "sense consciousness has a non-common object." The relation is shown to be common by "having multiple supports," etc. Whatever is common is not an object of direct perception, just like universals, and this reveals the pervasion contradiction. It is not seen by universals, and if it is also said to be a universal, etc., this has been proven. There is no need to doubt that there is no pervasion here, because sense consciousness is considered to have the object of things, and things are also non-common, not common. Relations are also common, therefore they are not things, and therefore they are not objects of sense consciousness. Also, "those with relations," etc., if relations are to be taken as the nature of those with relations, that is, as those with connections and those with collections, etc., then this will be close to inference, etc. Through the word "etc.," it is close to measurement, etc. Otherwise, if nothing is a relation of fire, then since the relation between fire and smoke is not initially recognized, grasping smoke will also become inference. Those are not direct perception in that way, because they depend on relations, and because the relation itself or the relation is not direct perception. Sense consciousness only looks at things, so it has no power to establish relations, so it is impossible for those to grasp the nature of those with relations through direct perception. In order to distinguish between seeing and seeing from universals, etc., seeing is where the relation between signs and sign-possessors is seen. Seeing from universals is where, after seeing a relation somewhere, the meaning beyond sense consciousness is understood through its universal aspect. Through the word "etc.," those spoken by those of the same kind, which are related to the former, should be understood. From that, etc., because it has been admitted that collections, etc., and those with smoke, etc., related to this, are not direct perception in the nature of those with collections, etc., even according to the opponent's view, the inference based on this does not have prior direct perception.
