As such, it is briefly shown that it does not arise merely from the initial mind. Now, in order to dispel the view that "it arises only from the knowledge of others," it is said, "other continuums," etc. The mind of other continuums related to the mother, etc., is either a proximate cause or a co-actor. It is not temporarily a proximate cause, because otherwise, in the son's knowledge continuum, there would also arise distinctions beyond the father and mother's hearing, etc., which is unreasonable. For example, just like the initial and later wisdoms of the parents themselves. Because for the later moment, the action of the previous moment follows, this is the distinction between proximate cause and the object of proximate cause, because it is determined by whether one's own continuum follows or does not follow. If, like producing another lamp from one lamp, the action of the previous lamp with characteristics such as cloth does not become the difference of the later lamp. Then what is it? It only produces a lamp that does not act. If it is thought that, just as that other lamp is special from other things such as firewood, so is the son's wisdom, that is not correct. Because the action of lamps, etc., temporarily on their own basis, will not continue to follow, because it is unstable. Just like this, when the firewood decreases, one sees that the lamp becomes smaller, similarly, when hearing, etc., are unstable, it is not like that, because it exists for a long time. Therefore, it should not be that only wisdom without action arises, like lamps, etc. Furthermore, for lamps, etc., because the accumulation of more or fewer particles of dharma arises, difference and non-difference are examined, but not on a single moment of a thing, there is difference and non-difference. Here, for a single moment of a thing, the mother's wisdom will include the difference of hearing, etc., while the son's wisdom does not include difference. What is similar to what? Furthermore, if it is the cause of proximate cause, then this unreasonable consequence will be said, the other lamp is not the proximate cause of the other lamp.

Because it is a heterogeneous cause, it is nothing at all. Furthermore, how can those born from the correct heat and moisture, without a mother, be born from other minds? It is enough to come along the way. If it is said to be a cause that acts together, then it is arguing on the basis of what has already been established. Therefore, in order to prove beginninglessness, a valid cognition is used. The syllogism is: the nature of the four aggregates of consciousness, feeling, perception, and mental formations is produced by the power of its own immediate cause, because it is consciousness, etc. Just like those four aggregates in the states of youth, etc. The collection of the first mind, etc., is also the nature of consciousness, etc., which is the reason of nature. The mention of "the first consciousness" is representative, and feelings, etc., should also be included. In order to refute what is to be proven, a valid cognition that obstructs is stated, such as "other causes," etc., because other things such as the permanent mind, time, direction, and Isvara have already been refuted, and if one does not accept one's own immediate cause, it will become causeless. If this is the case, then the characteristics of consciousness, etc., will not change in this definite dharma, because the accidental nature has no determiner, so it cannot be determined separately. Therefore, if there is no cause, then the determination of the dharma of consciousness, etc., and the occasionality are unreasonable, which is a valid cognition that obstructs. Thus, having proven the past birth, in order to prove the future, "the moment of death," etc., is mentioned, that is, whatever mind has attachment is able to generate another mind that is to be taken as its own immediate cause, because it has attachment, just like the mind of the previous state. The mind of death also has attachment, which is the reason of nature. This reason is also not unestablished, for whatever mind is devoid of seeing the antidote to attachment, etc., selflessness, is all possessed of attachment, because it is the antidote.
