If so, what is this "action" that is being done now? Is it pulling to another place? If so, then things would become permanent, because they exist everywhere. For non-form things such as feelings, because there is no action, they will be pulled. Whatever pulls it, that is also considered to be born from the unborn. The high place refers to the top of Mount Meru, etc. Liberation refers to liberation, and obtaining these is the connection. To strive for this refers to asceticism and meditation, etc. If one relies on the second aspect of "not being able to function," then, if that is the case, because it is empty of the ability to function, it would become non-existent like a flower in the sky, and the characteristic of non-existence is being devoid of all ability to function. Therefore, in order to refute the measure that proves non-existence with the past and future, and to affirm the measure that proves existence, it is said "by the law of non-existence," etc. The reasons mentioned earlier, such as "included by time," are unestablished bases, because the past, etc., are unestablished dharmas. As it is said, "The unestablished has no dharma." If it is established, then it is only established as arising in the present, therefore the self-nature of the dharma is established in reverse, so it is a contradictory reason. Now it is shown that the form, etc., of the past and future are included by time. If it is said that things that are completely non-existent, such as rabbit horns, are not past or future, then it is said "any nature," etc., which is only for understanding. If asked how to show form and feeling, etc., it is said "past, etc., this," etc., and "that time" refers to that time. If asked how the second consciousness is said to depend on it, it is said "that is form," etc. There are two kinds of consciousness, with objects and without objects. The Blessed One, considering the consciousness with objects, said that it depends on two consciousnesses. If consciousness is also without objects, then

If asked, how to ascertain "exists"? Because it mentions "eternal sovereign" etc. The word "etc." includes other things that are universally conceived, such as the chief, time, etc. Do not think that these ideas are directed at sound, because sound and name etc. have been mentioned. The name of the difference of sound or non-possession, i.e., the sovereign etc., is separated from the form to be determined by the idea that its form is constant and that existence is the cause of form. The word "etc." includes other reasons etc. that have been promised, and grasps the nature of the image. If consciousness also exists without an object, then how is it called "consciousness"? Similarly, because it is conscious, it is called consciousness, and if there is no object to be conscious of, then what is conscious by consciousness? Therefore, it is said, "Following after discrimination." If asked, it is impossible for following after discrimination not to have something to be discriminated, therefore it is said, "This," that is, the discrimination of this consciousness is also followed. Question: What is said? That is, the nature of non-matter. Because there is no other thing to be manifested, and because it is far from other manifesters, it is said to be the nature of discrimination because it is said to be manifest like the appearance in the sky. If asked, how does past karma produce results? Therefore, it is said, "producing results" etc., that is, the ability to produce results is achieved through necessity. If so, how did the Blessed One say that karma that is exhausted, ceased, and completely transformed exists? Therefore, it is said, "in the mind stream," and "briefly observing" is a general statement. Just as when the continuum of effects such as pottery etc. produced from the material of the cause is damaged, it is also said that the traces of the cause are damaged, so is karma. If asked, what is the need to show by briefly observing? Therefore, it is said, "If that is the case," if it is said that there is no past karma, then the ability to produce cause and effect is past
