Furthermore, if one relies on the second viewpoint out of fear of confusion, then when admitting that the nature of one is not one, it becomes multiple. The general and the particular will become distinct in nature, and if that is the case, these will not be confused. If these become multiple, then since only two things are established, it is not reasonable for one thing to be the nature of two things. Moreover, if the general and the particular become mutually devoid of nature, then saying that the entity of the general and the particular is not different is also contradictory. Like this, when admitting that the general and the particular are not different from one thing, how can it be established that these are mutually devoid of nature? If not different from one thing, then those will also become the nature of one thing, because they will become not different. If one admits that the natures of the general and the particular are mutually devoid, then they will not establish one thing that is not different. Because of those not being different, wanting to appear as one will also become distinct, like the nature of the general and the particular. Therefore, saying that it is the nature of both one and two is contradictory. If one welcomes the doubts raised by the system of good intelligence with "nature is one" and so on, then here, it is said that he answered the previously raised debate. However, if the general and the particular do not admit being separated from each other's nature, wouldn't it be confusing? This fault is not there. Even if they are distinct in nature, it is possible to establish the distinct dharmas arising from convention, just like the ability of the agent. For example, lightning arises from clouds. Lightning arises from clouds, etc., refers to the abilities of the agent of distinct entities. Even if it is confusion due to not being different from the nature of the substance, if one does not admit this, then there will definitely be contradictions in the scriptures and in the world.

Furthermore, the so-called "seeing as unreasonable" does not exist. For example, although the general and the particular are the same entity, they are merely designations of different terms without worldly convention. The application of terms through worldly difference is the application of worldly terms. Whoever follows it in its own oneness is called that. The argument is that whatever has different terms applied to one entity has the reason of different dharmas, like the abilities of the agent. The characteristic of the general and the particular is also the application of different terms to one entity, which is the reason of self-nature. The answer is given with "However," etc., which shows that the reason itself is contradictory, because it establishes the opposite of what is desired. Thus, the opponent wants to truly establish the difference of dharmas, but the difference of dharmas that has not been examined is also not established, because it does not accept the entity as one nature, and the oneness of the entity contradicts the difference. Why is it said that "difference" refers to the aggregate itself? How can anything diverse become one? Not only is the example empty, but the reason also pervades the opposite of what is to be established, so "abilities," etc., are mentioned. Someone might think, even if "difference" refers to diversity itself, in what way does it establish the opposite conclusion, thus leading to contradiction? How can the same entity become diverse? Therefore, "with one entity," etc., is mentioned. The so-called "that which is the same" refers to that which is called the same, which is one, like two sentient beings. If it is an entity, denying that is other, like the element of earth and two sentient beings. If that is the case, since affirmation and negation cannot be established on one entity, therefore, the oneness and multiplicity of the nature of that entity and the non-entity are contradictory to each other, so the difference of one is merely imputed. If asked, how are that entity and the non-entity contradictory? Answer: With some abiding by self-nature...
