If someone asks, why should 'knowing' be understood in this way? Because 'its name' etc. are mentioned. This explains that asserting the simultaneous arising of two conceptualizations contradicts the sequential perception and also contradicts the commitment. After 'two,' 'conceptualization' is added. 'Conceptualization' etc. are used to summarize. To respond to the occasional question from the opponent that 'the simultaneous arising of conceptualizations is not established,' 'consciousness' etc. are mentioned. If they arise sequentially, how can they be understood simultaneously? Therefore, 'arising quickly like a firebrand' is mentioned. Like a firebrand, for example, when a firebrand is quickly rotated, the shape of a wheel is recognized simultaneously because the observers are focused on the connection. Similarly, consciousnesses arise quickly, so they are presumed to arise simultaneously. Another explanation is that the term 'firebrand' refers to the consciousness possessing the object because the object is approximately attributed to the possessor of the object, so the consciousness possessing the object is expressed, and the other explanations are the same as before. The word 'not' is used to negate the previous view. One thinks: This is not the time to prove simultaneous arising. Then what is it? It is the time to establish wisdom as being free from conceptualization. That is, even when the mind has shifted elsewhere, at the time of experiencing the manifested object, it can be established because the conceptualization mixed with the name of that object, which is the cause of the characteristic of the object, is not observed. No criticism is made of this because if it is mistakenly thought that it should be known sequentially, but conceptualization is not an object to be known, then this situation is not harmed. To show that thinking of simultaneous arising is also not wrong, 'that also thinks' etc. are mentioned, and 'not mistaken' should be understood in context. 'That also thinks' refers to thinking of simultaneous arising, which is the way the words are combined. Because there is a damaging measure, it will be set up incorrectly, but in reality, there is no measure that can damage it.

Yes. How could it not be? Because it is said, "That appears without interruption," which refers to the knowledge of the meaning that appears without interruption. In the experience of focusing on other objects and appearing simultaneously, the various knowledges of that appearing meaning are obvious, so how could it be an illusion? The illusion that arises in an instant is considered to be the illusion itself, but there is no basis for proving this, and not only that, but to show that there is harm instead, so it is said, "dancer," etc. Even if each mind is separated by five mindful ones, in the case of watching a dancer, etc., it appears to be without interruption. For example, when one is focused on watching a dancer, he simultaneously hears the sound of songs, etc., tastes the flavor of camphor, etc., smells the fragrance of flowers, etc., inserted into the nostrils, touches the sensation of fans, etc., and thinks about giving clothes and ornaments, etc. Even if separated by many things, due to the power of rapid arising, minds arise in an instant of illusion. At the time of the illusion, because each mind is separated by things such as bamboo, mountains, lakes, and tastes, the heard letters enter very quickly, so the letters will appear simultaneously. Even so, when hearing the sounds of lakes and tastes, etc., different hearings will not become different discriminations. Furthermore, because the knowledge of different kinds of names, etc., is without interruption, when the discrimination of the form of thinking about its nature, the basis of many forms, arises only, because of rapid entry, it will not be gradually determined. Because all minds do not last for a long time in an instant, because of rapid entry, nothing will be recognized sequentially. Like the mind of sound, etc., it means that in the case of watching a dancer, it is like the cognition of sound, etc. As for the analogy of "like a torch," in order to show that this is unfounded, it is said, "the torch is also," etc. Because this is considered to appear sequentially, it is the illusion of the mind that produces combination.

English

It is not. Then what is it? It is that the singularity arises from the power of the particularity of the collection of illusions with the aspect of a wheel, born from the senses in an instant, because it appears clearly. It is not reasonable that what appears clearly is connected to conceptual thought. To combine in this way is done by memory itself, not by sense consciousness, because it arises from the power of the proximity of objects and has no ability to grasp past meanings. The object of memory is not clear, why? Because it is gone. Therefore, since it would be a fault of appearing unclear, this is not an illusion of the mind. Then why? Because it is born from the senses. Therefore, the example is empty. Having thus established that it is separate from intelligence and realization by direct perception, now it is established by inference, such as "or else." The connection is that if there is no reason to establish something as the nature of something, then those who give names, those who have conceptual thought, should not establish it in that way, just as there is no dewlap, etc., which is the reason for giving the name "cow" to a horse and a cow, just like a cow. For direct perception arising from the power of uncommon objects such as blue, there is also no reason for other conceptual thoughts, holding the meaning of difference and having difference, this is the non-observation of the cause. Dissimilar things are variegated and cuckoos, etc. In all ways, everything will become established, and even if it is established, it will become a fault of not being prior to conceptual thought, this is a measure with harm, this is the general meaning. The first is a white horse. Because of preventing lineage, etc., it is said to be different, this is the remainder. Even if lineage, etc., become things and exist, they are false. Even so, in order to show that it is not unestablished, it is said: Because it is not separated. From the form, etc., that one wants to appear as different, it is led out from the heart. If the lineage is not separated, then why will it not become different? Thus it becomes different.
