Smell and fire have taste. Wind has form together with them. Space has touch together with them. Thus it is said. To this, the one with mind is self. The one with body is solid. They and form, means that smell and taste, those with form, exist in the wind. They and touch, means that form and taste and smell, those with touch, exist in space, that is, in the sky. If non-things are not differentiated by differences such as non-existence from the beginning, then the world will not use differences such as causes to name them. For example, if someone strives for yogurt, they will not take milk, but if they strive for milk, they will not take yogurt. Similarly, striving for a cow will not take a horse, and striving for a horse will not be a cow, like this, differences such as causes are used to name things. If these four forms are like this, then it must also become the thing itself, why is that? This difference is said for non-things and so on. For non-things, difference is not reasonable, because it is dependent on things. Therefore, non-things are things. What is this thing itself like? Results and so on are said. What is the thing of the cause of milk and so on, that is the non-thing itself of the result of yogurt and so on. What is the thing of the result of yogurt and so on, that is the non-thing of the cause of milk and so on. This is the thing of non-things. Furthermore, in order to prove this thing itself by inference, it is said or and so on. Non-thing is a thing, this is the subject. Because it is to be grasped by the wisdom of following and reversing, and because it is measurable, these are two reasons. Like cows and so on, this is a metaphor. Among them, the wisdom of following is the knowledge with one form that is said to be absent in all four. The wisdom of reversing is the knowledge of different forms that says this was not there before, but it is not that it is not there after disappearing. To this, the young woman uses things

Three types of non-existence are explained, one of which is the incomplete self. Recognizing the other characteristics of things is the second, because it is said, "That is the incomplete self, or, it is the recognition of other things." The nature of merely not reverting is the third, because it is said, "Whatever is produced by the three characteristics, the mind wishes to infer it. The essence of non-arising, at no time does it depend on causes." Therefore, in order to refute and answer this third non-existence, the question is raised, "How is non-existence a valid cognition?" If it is said, how can the unarisen direct perception, etc., be considered a valid cognition of non-existence? To this, it should be answered, "For this, what kind of object is to be measured?" What should be explained here? If it is said that the very essence of non-existence is the object to be measured, then, if so, whatever the object to be measured becomes, the valid cognition should also be considered to be the same. Therefore, why say, "How is non-existence a valid cognition?" It is unreasonable to be different from a valid cognition. Non-existence is a valid cognition, that is certainly possible. If asked, how is this different from direct perception, etc.? The answer is given by explaining through "valid cognitions, etc." The object of direct perception, etc., the valid cognition of non-existence is different from direct perception, etc., because it is the object expressed by the word of non-existence, just like the object to be measured, non-existence. Another way is that the object to be measured, which is called non-existence, is the subject. Its own nature and the object to be measured of the subsequent corresponding valid cognition itself is what needs to be proven. Because it is an object to be measured, this is the reason. The object to be measured, which is called a thing, is the example. Whatever valid cognition corresponds to its own nature and subsequently, is different from the direct perception, etc., that arise from it, and thus it is established. Therefore, the answer is given through "here, etc." This shows that the incomplete self, or the first characteristic of non-existence, is impossible. Like this, the incomplete transformation, which is the opposite of complete transformation from the state of not entering, is considered a characteristic.
