Oh, it is just like direct perception. Like this, the black and other things that are distinguished as external objects, or the external places that are distinguished by black and other things. If the object to be measured is these two situations, then how can the absence of black and other things in the house, if it is a different basis, become a pervasive property? It will definitely not become a pervasive property, that is what he thinks. Furthermore, if one realizes that the absence in the house is the nature of pervasion, then sometimes it is said that Devadatta is alive and not at home, or it is general, these are two situations. Among them, the fault with the first situation is that being alive, etc., for 'knowing', the certainty of knowing that Devadatta is alive does not arise without realizing that Devadatta is outside. Is this itself an unestablished reason? Even if it is established, it is said to be proving what is already established. For the second situation, this is an uncertain reason, because for Devadatta and others who have not died, it is also seen that they are not at home, in order to show this, 'existence' etc. are mentioned. 'Existence' means not dead. Thus, among the six situations understood in meaning, four are able to determine the object to be measured, one is that sound is impermanent, and the other is a substance existing in the external environment. Below, the refutation is explained with 'Regarding this' etc. This is temporarily not the reason of nature, because not seeing is not the same as non-existence, and it does not correspond to other meanings such as seeing and hearing, so not seeing is conjecture. This should be analyzed, is not seeing related to the meaning of seeing and hearing? Or not? If they are related, then there will be the fault of inference, because it is a method of seeing the relationship. If it cannot be established, then just as fire burns, it should also be analyzed as not burning, because there is no difference without seeing the relationship. If it is thought that because it is seen that fire is not burning, it should not be analyzed as not burning, then burning should also not be analyzed, because it has never been seen together with it. Therefore,

When a relationship is established, if one sees the relationship that does not arise without it, then one should examine the second relationship. If one examines in this way, because it is a means of seeing the relationship, it is included within inference itself. For example, statements and so on are also unreasonable, because the power of the meaning established by perception and so on is cognized by understanding with four meanings, which refers to the explanation of common refutation. Among them, "abandoning the capable" and so on, because the power is not different from the object, and the power of the object is also perception itself, so it is not explained by grasping what has already been grasped, but what is grasped by perception itself is the proximate cause. Among them, "burning and so on" and so on, refers to the explanation of particularly refuting understanding with the meaning of the object of perception. "Without error, without doubt," this refers to the difference in action. If one accepts that the powers are different, then, because only the power is closely connected with the results, it follows that the object is not the cause itself. If that is the case, then it follows that it is not the object itself, because the characteristic of the object itself is to perform a function. If it follows that it is not the object itself, thinking that this is not acceptable, one accepts the connection, then, when accepting the connection, the different power is not something separate. Why? Because the power of the nature of being able to function is not a different characteristic of another power. Moreover, what is said to be the different power of the object is because one abandons other differences and wants to understand only that much, so it is said to be the object itself. If one thinks that the characteristic of power is not to perform a function, then what is it? If one thinks it is something else, then one has said "other characteristic" and so on, for establishing the characteristic of another power, what valid cognition is there that can particularly distinguish this power from the absence of a characteristic that is separate from all powers? Such knowledge is of no use at all, because it possesses the nature of

Because actions are accomplished from the very nature of things themselves. As it is said: If there is no capacity to accomplish, what is the benefit of seeking it in vain? Like a eunuch with a beautiful form, what need is there for those with desire to examine? As it is said. Here, if one thinks that there is another characteristic of capacity, for example, since that capacity should not always become another result, therefore, whatever essence is to be understood is capacity, so the characteristic of capacity should be inferred from the result. If you think like this, then the characteristic of capacity is not reasonable. Why? Because it is possible to become another result. Because even without different capacities, other results can arise. How so? It is said: This is transformed from reality. Because this result is transformed, that is, arises, from the thing, that is, from its own nature, therefore, since there is a possibility that there are results in other ways, what is the use of examining different capacities? In order to clarify this meaning, it is said, such as water, and so on. If we think that if we acknowledge that things and capacities are one and different, then this fault will occur. Then how should it be? If you think that it is the nature of both different and non-different, this is also unreasonable. Why? Because the statement is contradictory. If it is different, then how is it non-different? On the other hand, if it is non-different, then how is it different? Such a thing is contradictory. It is another thing to simultaneously acknowledge in the same subject the characteristics of qualities that exist by mutually excluding each other. Whatever does not change, like self and other, this meaning has already been explained. Even if it is allowed that capacity is the nature of both, even so, it is obvious that capacity is the nature of both, because capacity is not different from the thing, but in what way does it become unclear, becoming one and not another? If so, then the statement that capacity should always be understood from the result is contradictory. Furthermore, all the capacities of things are established by being understood through the function of the result.
