Therefore, it should not be inferred. In order to show that there is no connection. The reason for mentioning "by what in this" is that the results of these abilities and their connection Before the time of inference, one should not grasp heat and so on like fire and smoke, because they are beyond the senses. This expresses the absence of subsequent occurrence. Likewise, connection should not be established at the time of inference, because they themselves are beyond the senses. This explains the absence of the property of the The powers that depend on causes are not reasonably the properties of effects. Furthermore, when the power of understanding appearances and so on is made the পক্ষ (pakṣa, पक्ष, aspect, side, पक्ष), all the reasons that are applied to prove the power when the ear and so on are made the পক্ষ (pakṣa, पक्ष, aspect, side, पक्ष) will become unestablished at the base, because the powers that have become the basis are not established. Therefore, it is established by understanding through the meaning of the effect, but not all powers are inferred. Among them, understanding by the meaning that precedes from sound is like, for example, from hearing the words "Fat Devadatta does not eat gruel during the day" from which it is indirectly understood that "he eats at night" and so on. If one thinks that the meaning of the statement "Fat Devadatta does not eat gruel during the day" is "he eats at night," then the reason for mentioning "the speech of the day" is that the meaning of speech becomes twofold, namely, mixed and distinct. Among them, mixed is when words are indistinguishable from each other like milk and water. Distinct is when they exist in the nature of what is to be cut and what cuts. Or, the definite connection of what is to be proven and what proves is mixed. Distinct is the opposite of dissimilar kinds. Neither of these two kinds of meaning of speech is possible, because whatever the meaning of the words day and so on are, they are day and so on, and they do not have the nature of eating at night and being adorned by them, because they are very different. Distinct is also not the nature, because day and so on.
