Explaining similarity, such as "What is the cause?" etc. The so-called "What is the cause?" refers to explaining the cause. That is, what is the cause? Because similar knowledge has most of its branches similar and possessed, but not all branches are similar and possessed. Therefore, there is no reciprocity in this. It is not so, if all the branches are similar and possessed, then the calf would become the cow itself. The so-called "some" refers to intelligent people. What is the nature of their approximation? That is, from the completely established common property, what can establish the proposition is called approximation. The common property is established, or the establishment of the common property is due to the established one, and this common property is the calf. Therefore, relying on it to establish the relationship between the name and the named of the proposition is approximation. Similarly, relying on the memory of the action habituated by the scriptures, expressing it with knowledge, and understanding its relationship is approximation. Others explain this meaning in other ways, that is, the comparative statement "the calf is like a cow" is the body, and the action habituated through it is the merit. Therefore, when a calf is seen in the pasture, the memory generated from the comparative statement arises. Relying on it, that is called the knowledge of the common property. The so-called expression is the name, which is a synonym for sound. The understanding of the meaning association that arises with it is approximation, and these two have the same meaning. Among them, the refutation is explained with "in that" etc. That is, in that, when hearing the comparative statement, because the understanding of the relationship between the name and the named arises before the memory, therefore, when it arises later, because it is grasping what has already been grasped, it is not a valid cognition like memory. If someone thinks that grasping what has already been grasped can also be a valid cognition, then what contradiction is there in this? The answer is: because it does not possess the meaning of being able to act. The reason for saying this is that the meaning of being able to act is not established, because it is engaged in unfinished matters, it will become a superior establisher. If someone thinks that the relationship between the name and the named was not understood before, so it is not born, therefore it is not grasping what has already been grasped.

If it is thought that this is an unestablished reason, then the phrase "why" is stated. If the initial understanding related to the name does not arise, then when will the conceptualization of the form such as "I have heard the name of this thing before" arise? To explain that this is reasonable, the phrase "it is like this" is stated. The Sthavira school says: From the scriptures, the general understanding leads to the specific understanding because of close measurement. If close measurement is necessary, the doubt of this view is met with the phrase "if close measurement is necessary." Close measurement, that is, the language of comparison, in what situation is it closely necessary, it is said to it like that. The meaning is shown by two verses, that is, the phrase "because of that," the special object is "Vaman." "However," etc., are used to answer, the so-called "non-caste," this non-caste is related to the word "caste." Here, when it is understood to be related to the name, it should not be understood to be another meaning of the name, because it would be too excessive. To explain the excessiveness, the phrase "bracelet" is stated. The bracelet is called "bracelet" an ornament, whoever has this wonderful ornament, it is said to it like that. It is shown who has the wonderful bracelet, that is Devadatta. Some people think that at other times, the sound of having a wonderful armlet will not be understood as having a beautiful crest of the supreme Devadatta. The crest is the ornament on the head. It is both beautiful and a crest, whoever has it, it is said to it like that. Therefore, since it would be too excessive, the name of the object fabricated by conceptualization, the mind that clings to external objects, has been considered different. When the target is Vaman, it is also to understand that name for it, but not to describe the external self-characterized Vaman. The image of conceptualization itself is called the general characteristic, not other parikalpita, because that has been excluded. So, how to falsely cling to external self-characteristics? It said "apparent permanence" and so on. If there is any contradiction in combining one's own self-characteristic with sound, etc.? It said "like this" and so on.
