Therefore, establishment is not establishment, and the reason being unestablished is also not the case, because one wants to say that the power of mere words is the reason itself. If one thinks like this, then it is said, "Knowing all things," etc., because in either side, there is no valid cognition that harms the opposite of what is to be established by establishing the reason. Merely doubting the opposite is the reason being uncertain. According to which view, even if there is no mental activity, the Blessed One's teachings enter? For that tenet, it is said, "Turning the wheel," etc. Like this, the wheel, separated from the act of being turned by a stick, and again turning due to the power of previous force, similarly, even though the Blessed One abides in the wisdom that has abandoned all discriminations, it is precisely through the power of the accumulation of previous merit and wisdom that the teachings enter. Lobsang is the Sugata. That which is accepted by some who speak of mere consciousness, the fault of the reason being unestablished is clear and very certain. Thinking like this, in this treatise, because everything is merely experiencing the appearance of its own nature, there is also no speaker of ultimate truth. However, due to the dominance of manifest clinging, even if one does not speak to others, when a consciousness that appears in that way arises, abiding in the nature of the cause of the owner, it is the manifest clinging of worldly speech. The speaker of manifest clinging understood by worldly people is considered the reason. Like this, using a reason famous in an established tenet as the earth is not the subject of the property, it is not like that. Then what is it? It is merely worldly convention, therefore the reason is not unestablished. Thinking like this, in order to welcome this doubt, it is said, "Whatever is worldly," etc. Here too, as before, because of doubting the reversal from the dissimilar class, the reason is uncertain. However, with "If," etc., refuting the statement of unestablishedness of the Mind-Only school stated by others here, thinking like this, whatever is definitely stated in either side, that alone is establishing or refuting, it is impossible for anything to be unestablished or doubted on either side, that is also est-

This is because it depends on the reason for being able to be established. How to prove that the doctrine advocating only consciousness is not established? Refuting the judgment of establishment and non-establishment solely based on one's own wishes is not a refutation. Then what is it? It is not based on the power of valid cognition ( प्रमाण , pramāṇa, प्रमाण ). The principle of only consciousness is not established by the power of valid cognition, because this has already been explained in detail. If you think so, then refute it with "statement" etc. There are two distinctions to this: Sometimes, do you want to independently establish the speech itself? Or is it a reductio ad absurdum argument? For the first case, because it is not established by relying on a special basis, the basis of the reason is not established. If you want to say the general basis, even so, as long as the opponent has not proved the speech itself with valid cognition, it will always be a doubtful non-establishment, because only what is definitely stated for both is the principle to be established. This can be explained by such a reason. The "this" mentioned here is the speech itself. Therefore, this fault will occur here, so you must admit the reductio ad absurdum argument. Even for the reductio ad absurdum argument, if it is not examined, it is merely pleasing words, then in order to show that the widely known dharmas contradict each other, the principle that can be established must be clearly stated. This does not need to be proved by valid cognition, because there is no need. Furthermore, since the speech itself cannot be established solely by words, the reason itself is not established for both. Summarizing with "therefore" etc. like this is to express the opposite meaning from what others have said. Who wouldn't understand this? The phrase "is existence itself" is redundant. Because it is thought that the damaging thing is not observed, its existence itself is established. Put this aside for a while, it is not surprising that the bad reasoning held by the Vedicists is not beautiful. However, the good reasoning you speak of is also not beautiful because of the basis. Why? Smoke is not confused with fire.
