There is no harm that hinders the seeing of the true meaning. There is also no harm of complete suffering of body and mind caused by being bound by attachment and so on, and there is also no aging and so on related to birth, because the cause of birth is without afflictions. There is also no harm of being disgusted as with enjoying pleasures with outflows, because one does not arise greatly in the bliss of perfect peace. Therefore, it is not reasonable to strive for the sake of abandoning this. However, if one does, it will only be for the sake of not abandoning it. Because the mind naturally holds to the side of qualities. It is also not necessary to strive for the sake of taking faults, because they are the basis of all harms and are inherently flawed. Therefore, meditating on selflessness is indeed existence, and because it goes to the ultimate end, it is also seen as having clearly visible fruits, just as one who is tormented by desire becomes accustomed to desire. For example, just as one is surprised by seeing a confused young woman, such words and the actions of the body that follow thought arise. Therefore, the reason is not unestablished, nor is it uncertain, because seeing selflessness is powerful by virtue of being the object of true meaning, and seeing as self is reversed, therefore it is reversed, and is an object of opposing and favorable sides. Attachment and hatred are not, because both depend on grasping untrue meanings to arise, therefore for them there is also no object of opposing and favorable sides with the reason of holding contradictory objects. What is done by perversion and non-perversion also does not exist, because both are perverted. These contradictions are also not established, because both are the birthplace of grasping at self, and are objects of cause and effect. For example, if there is attachment to self, then hatred will arise towards harm to it, otherwise it will not.

Yes. For entities that are not different in substance, or those that have become cause and effect, it is not reasonable to be objects of harm and agents of harm. For example, like fire and smoke arising from a single piece of wood, or like self-grasping and habitual tendencies, because it would become too extreme. The reason why they do not arise simultaneously is that the mind that closely appropriates them cannot simultaneously project two minds of the same kind. The words of pleasure and pain are also not mutually contradictory, because pleasure and pain are of two kinds: those arising from the mind and those arising from objects. Among these, for the moment, those arising from the mind are the same as hatred and attachment, and are the same as those possessing desire and hatred, as well as accomplishment and pleasure. Similarly, the nature of holding onto what is inverted and the nature of holding onto the essence of a non-different self, and the fact that the place of birth for self-grasping is the same, and because they are entities of cause and effect, they are not mutually contradictory existences. Those that arise from objects are also not contradictory because it is not certain that they have different causes. For example, from the very thing that pleasure arises, pain also arises because it is shown to be very intense. Therefore, there is no certainty that these have different causes. Therefore, seeing selflessness and another situation is not the case. Furthermore, whichever of these two arises from the power of objects, their power is the same, but the path and the faults are not like that, because only the path has the power of having an object of true meaning, and the faults do not. Furthermore, pleasure and pain are impermanent, but the selflessness that is now is not like that. Because that is its essence, it does not separate from itself, as has been shown before. Therefore, there is no confusion. The cause of simultaneous arising has already been explained. Furthermore, it is also unreasonable to say that desire and so on arise for those who ascertain selflessness, in which all things abide, through inference. Because the clear appearance arising from meditation makes the object of selflessness manifest, and it is without conceptual thought.
