Because (I) will not arise, because for what does not harm me and my (things), and for the antidote that harms it, that is impossible. Similarly, it should be said for pride and so on as well. Therefore, the view of self, produced by the beginningless similar kind, by the habituation of previous previous ones, will definitely generate the grasping of what is mine, and is attached to the self. Moreover, the following and opposing of hatred and so on, clearly show that these are the root of grasping at self, just as the story of the cowherd's wife is widely known. What is contrary to the view of self is the view of no-self, because it apprehends in a way that is the opposite of it. These (view of self and view of no-self) cannot exist simultaneously in one continuum, and be the same, like the cognition of a rope and a snake. Therefore, since the view of no-self and the view of self are contradictory, it is contradictory together with its root, such as desire and so on, just like the difference of what causes suffering and the goosebumps caused by cold, and so on. Therefore, when the no-self that contradicts all faults is directly realized, the place of accumulation of faults such as attachment that contradicts it will not be found, just like there is no darkness in a bright place. Therefore, just as the obscuration of afflictions is abandoned because of no-self. The example is, where there is something that contradicts darkness, there is no other (darkness) there. For example, just as there is no darkness in a place with lamplight. For a person who has directly realized no-self, there is also the view of no-self that contradicts the accumulation of faults, which is called the object of inherent contradiction. Someone might think, just as the mind with the view of no-self, due to its contradictory nature, has no opportunity to generate the view of self, similarly, the mind with the view of self, due to its contradictory nature, has no opportunity to generate the view of no-self,

As mentioned before. Because one wants to establish a permanent difference here, and not just speak of it as it appears, therefore, the reason is not uncertain. If one thinks that through inference, each sun proves that all things have the true nature of selflessness, but due to the influence of uneliminated desires, etc., it leads to incorrect proof, therefore the reason is uncertain. Then, this thought is not valid. If it is impossible for the conceptual thought of selflessness to arise in the continuum of those who have not abandoned afflictions, then there would be no opportunity to give rise to seeing selflessness. Because for all things, there is a tendency towards the conceptual thought of selflessness, which has already been established through temporary experience. Similarly, through habituation, just like the conceptual thought of having desire, it is possible to reach the ultimate, and eventually appear clearly, and through the holding of the meaning purified by valid cognition, it will appear manifestly, how could it be impossible to give rise to seeing selflessness? Furthermore, just as in a dark place, there is a possibility of appearing later, why would it not be possible here? Whatever becomes the result of such manifest knowledge, similarly, it cannot be said that only meditation is possible. Because the reason for impossibility is that, like this, being associated with the entry of having conceptual thought, it necessarily pervades the pursuit of meaning itself, then, are all the reasons that are unrelated to meditation not pursuing meaning itself? Even if one pursues meaning, but because one does not understand the nature, one cannot abandon it, or because one does not understand the nature of what should be abandoned, one will not enter into permanence, or even if one understands its nature, one cannot abandon permanence, because if one always sees faults, one will not strive to abandon it, and even if it is impermanent, but because the independent one cannot be cut off, if one recognizes these as causes, one will not enter, or even if one has causes, but just like not understanding the basis, one cannot abandon it, because the nature of its cause is uncertain, therefore, the purpose of meditation cannot be achieved.
