If it is impossible to fully know the minute divisions of all the atoms belonging to the earth, what need is there to mention knowing all the differences, such as the subtle ones, belonging to all beings? In order to show that understanding is meaningless, it is said, "Branches clear, without remainder," and so on. Branches are hands, etc., and clear are Dava, etc., and Singhden and Pala Sha, etc., these are branches and clear, these are both branches and clear, and also without remainder, thus connecting the words. In order to know in detail the characteristics of their atoms, sounds, and Dava, etc., therefore it is said. Pointing out its proof is impossible, therefore it is meaningless, because they are not the realm of Dharma and non-Dharma, therefore they are not needed for the goal of a person, this is what is thought. In order to show this through an example, it is said, "As all objects of the eye," and so on. This is to show that in any case, the establishment of the commitment will be harmed by proof and fame. Where there is debate and proof, where it is needed for the goal of a person, therefore it is said, "Self-Dharma," and so on. This is one's own, and also knowing Dharma and non-Dharma, therefore it is said. In its proof and refutation, thus connecting the words, this is also the seventh. Therefore, by doing so, it is proven that the teachings that should be accepted and should be abandoned, connecting in order. What is shown is that if the arguer says that what he shows is knowing Dharma and non-Dharma, then when it is proven, Therefore, by doing so, it is proven that the teachings that should be accepted, and when the refuter refutes the Dharma and non-Dharma that others have admitted, when it is refuted, the teachings made by the refuter of Dharma and non-Dharma will become those that should be abandoned. Furthermore, since the idea of the realm of Dharma and non-Dharma is abandoned, therefore the omniscient, which is established from self and others, knows the differences such as the subtle ones that all beings have.

And for the sake of not knowing and establishing, the Samkhya and Buddhist schools and others establish doctrines and debate, and whatever they strive for, is merely the fruit of all afflictions. Knowing and not knowing the subtle and other distinctions possessed by all sentient beings, this is called the seventh reason. Regarding the debates on treatises, here it is the seventh of the four abodes in relation to diligence. If someone doubts, if there is no one who can fully know the Dharma and so on, then how can merit and non-merit be understood in the world? To this, it is mentioned, "All measurers," etc., that it can be understood by scripture alone, meaning that it can only be understood by scripture. If the word "scripture" is spoken generally, then it should also be understood as ultimately the scripture spoken by a person. By this alone, it is merely the negation of knowing the Dharma itself. The meaning represented by exhortation is the Dharma. Even if this view of the logician is established, we will still strive again to refute omniscience, so anyone who wants to obtain the fruit of manifest desire, obtaining the fruit is like killing a corpse, which is fruitless. Furthermore, when Buddhists destroy the knowledge of Dharma with the measure of non-reality, in order to establish omniscience, then that effort is also without the fruit of desire, just like beating chaff to obtain bran, it is merely labor. For example, completely abandoning the rice inside the husk, and beating the chaff to obtain bran, similarly, abandoning the Dharma and non-Dharma that are more important than oneself, such as the Buddha, and establishing the subtle and other distinctions of all sentient beings that are not needed, this is the same as beating chaff. Because the root is severed. The root is the main thing, completely

Those who possess discriminating knowledge are called such. Its entity is that itself. These Buddhists who strive to prove omniscience not only fail to achieve the result they manifestly desire, but also obtain what they do not desire. To demonstrate this, it is stated, "Actually, through direct perception," and so forth. One might think: The Sugatas and others reveal the suchness of all aggregates of things, therefore, they are inferences of the entity of omniscience, so the proposition (thesis) contradicts the inference (reason), and the reason (example) is also not established. To dispel this doubt, it is stated, "Vedas," and so forth. Vedas refer to the Rigveda, Samaveda, and the Yajurveda, which has the name of poetry. Near Vedas refer to the Ayurveda (science of life) and the science of archery, and so forth. Limbs refer to the six limbs of the Vedas, namely: instruction, realization, Sanskrit grammar, metrics, etymology, and astrology. Sub-limbs refer to their limbs, and the essence of language, and so forth. The word "and so forth" includes the explanation of them, and so forth. The meaning of these is the object to be expressed, and that which shows them is the expressing word. Those who are able to show the meaning revealed by the Vedas and so forth, and those who are like that, the Buddhists and so forth have not seen, that is its meaning. It has not been seen merely to make treatises that are able to show all the aggregates of things, because all the treatises are different in what is to be expressed. Furthermore, if because seeing to show a little thing, even if it is not shown in the treatises of the Buddhists and so forth, one can infer by knowing other meanings, because the power of knowledge is seen. If that is so, the occasion of fault is at hand, after thinking like that, it is stated, "In one's own treatises," and so forth. If even if it is not shown in one's own treatises, that is, not expressed, but by those meanings one knows, when expecting by the power of inference like that, then those poets who create stories of their own devising, will also be considered omniscient because the power of completely understanding is seen, because
