It is established in that itself. For the sake of what is to be taken and what is to be discarded, consciousness is the main thing in entering into things. Thus, if there is no smoke, etc., it will not arise. Likewise, as long as consciousness does not arise, the person does not engage in the meaning. Therefore, consciousness is the uninterrupted agent of engagement, so it is the valid cognition. It is said: Intelligence is the valid cognition, because engagement in things to be taken and discarded is the main thing. That is what is said. The non-deceptive consciousness is also the characteristic of being able to obtain the meaning, but it is not the attainment of the meaning, because there is a possibility of obstacles, etc. The power of things is their very nature, so who is it that wants to obstruct it, that the meaning arises from another? When it is established, the unestablished dharma is not its nature, nor is it reasonable, because it is too extreme. Even if it is the nature of valid cognition, because there is a cause of confusion, its result is not understood, so it is definitely not possible, so it is said that the consciousness of the function of meaning is determined from another result. Therefore, it is said that depending on the determination, it is a valid cognition from another. It is not dependent on arising, so it is meaningless to reject the cause arising from another, because there is no dispute. You also only allow the determination of function to be from another, as it is said: All the functions of things are established by the meaning of the result. That is what is said. Also, the function that does not exist in oneself cannot be done by another. This is said to reject the arising from other beings. Therefore, saying that the reason is the same for non-valid cognition. It is also too much to be a valid cognition from itself, and it is not a reason, because it is confusing. Also, it is not possible to understand the action in generating the result of valid cognition through the door of qualities and establishment, this is also the word of a blind person with unclear meaning. What is this action understanding through the door of establishment is not known, if you think for a while, this is the clear word to be done, to generate the result of

Therefore, the activity of applying consciousness in advance does not exist in the senses, etc. Because it is impossible for all things to move and act in a momentary way, it is impossible for things themselves to apply consciousness in advance. If this is the case, it is also impossible for the senses, etc., to act through establishment, so they will become causes. If, even if they do not have the ability to produce an effect, the senses, etc., merely by existing, can engage in producing a result, they are therefore considered to be causes. This is the same with qualities, etc. When a cause produces a result, it is impossible to recognize other activities besides the necessarily existing proximate cause. If there are qualities, when faults disappear, the saying "a new valid cognition arises" will occur. In this regard, faults will not act by establishing the invalidity of valid cognition. If this is the case, the invalid valid cognition will also become self-arisen, because there is no difference. Faults directly leading to the invalidity of valid cognition without eliminating qualities is not an indication. Therefore, besides existing along with existence, it is impossible for other causal things to exist, so qualities are the same as faults, and they are also equally causes. Some also say that the nature of the senses, etc., itself does not depend on others and can produce knowledge that does not deceive the object. This statement is also unreasonable. Because just like the nature of cognition without missing causes, all knowledge will become valid cognition. Just as the nature of cognition of knowledge is the same, when it is connected with the immediate condition, even if there are faults, etc., because there is no lack of causes, all knowledge will change, so the nature of not deceiving the object will also change. Some think that when faults produce invalid valid cognition, the valid cognition without missing causes will not arise along with it, because it is impossible for valid cognition and invalid valid cognition to exist simultaneously in one knowledge. The nature of cognition without contradiction is universally present. If this is the case, the nature of the senses itself cannot be established as a cause that does not depend on others, even if it is without lack, it will become valid cognition.
