It is the self-nature, because it is the object of perception in any way, just like myself and a pot, etc. Here, too, the previous reasoning should be combined with the absence of an example of dissimilar qualities. It should be known that your father is in this house, because you heard your father's voice. Because there is no example of similar qualities here, it is called the second way. For example, even if there is no dharma of direction, just like the sign of smoke, etc., it is seen that it is the very thing that makes sound and lamps, etc., known. Sound and lamps, etc., are not the dharma of understanding the meaning of pots, etc., and also it is not from sound, etc., that meaning is understood, therefore, the absence in the dissimilar side and the very fact that it is different elsewhere is called the second way of reasoning. Therefore, one answers with "because," etc., in which the reason is to be established, and if it does not exist, it does not arise, and the difference of the subject of dharma is not completely grasped, so from its general aspect, or the difference of the subject of dharma is completely grasped, that is, from the aspect of difference. Even if it is from the aspect of difference, it is the difference that one wants to know, that is, on the subject of dharma to be established, or on the subject of dharma of the example, there are these three possibilities. Among them, the fault of the first aspect is explained as follows: that is, it is said that "that is from the general aspect," etc., and merely not having the dharma of direction does not arise, and it is not seen that the very nature of being grasped by the eye makes one understand the impermanence of the subject of dharma sound, therefore the first aspect is not reasonable. "What is to be said is established and does not depend" means that on the subject of dharma to be established, what is to be said is established and does not depend. How is it said? "For example" is said, that refers to the very nature of being grasped by the eye, that refers to destruction, and the means of proof refers to being able to understand. If it becomes a fault as stated, it is not reasonable, therefore, if the reason depends on the subject of dharma to be established, then the three ways of our characteristic of reason will also become your view. How is it said? "It is unreasonable elsewhere," etc., is said, following is being present on the similar side, and contradiction is on the dissimilar side.
