Because of this, the established sign cannot be abandoned, therefore inference cannot be discarded. However, if there is entry from the beginning, then isn't practice accomplished? Because it is necessary to explain how that itself changes, it is said: It starts from doubt. If direct perception is the cause of doubt, then how can it be a valid means of cognition? How can the cause of establishment be a valid means of cognition? If someone says, because it generates establishment, those who seek meaning will enter into it. This is the same for the cause of doubt as well. If someone says, if the conceptual pursuit of it is the establishment that is the opposite of the form of meaning, then direct perception will not enter in that form either, because in that way, the meaning of establishment will not be pursued. Nor is it the opposite, because the pursuit of the meaning of conceptualization, the cause of establishment itself will enter into the pursuit. If it is not like that, but is the cause of doubt, then pursuing meaning from direct perception will not enter, nor will it be the opposite, if it can be said like that, that is not the case either. However, for those who seek meaning, it is impossible to arise without meaning, because the pursuit of meaning itself is a powerful entry. This is no different from direct perception being the cause of establishment. In any case, is the form opposite to the thoroughly understood meaning the cause of establishment itself? Or is it that which does not generate establishment, there, because it does not enter into the pursuit of meaning in any case, so it can be said that it is not a valid means of cognition, otherwise it is not. Excessive elaboration is enough. This is the examination of the definition of direct perception in the concise solution of difficulties, the twenty-second (chapter). Now is the explanation of the definition of inference, starting from "self and other" etc. Inference is divided into two types by the difference of self-benefit and other-benefit. Among them, self-benefit refers to the knowledge that arises from a sign with three aspects, that is, a sign that is consistent with the nature of the homogeneous side and different from all heterogeneous sides, and that has as its object the meaning to be inferred. This knowledge should be understood as its nature. Other-benefit refers to the clear explanation of the sign with three aspects as described above.

should be regarded as the nature of words. Or, since the characteristics of what appears to be an inference are not indicated, "each reason" and so on are mentioned, i.e., "sound is permanent, because it has a body, because it is measurable," etc., are each reason. In order, because it exists in the same category with similar properties, and only because it is reversed from the dissimilar category. Among them, the second reason is "sound is impermanent, because it is visible to the eye, because it is audible, because it is not embodied," etc., in order, because it exists in the same category with similar properties, and not only because it is reversed from the dissimilar category. As it is said: "Sound is permanent, because it is made, because it is not embodied or measurable, impermanent, because it is visible to the eye, because it is not embodied or audible." "Other" etc. are to welcome the doubts of the container king's sect, who said: Other unreasonableness itself is a good reason, not three characteristics, thus, if there is no other unreasonableness itself, then its son nature and other three branches will not be regarded as good reasons. Therefore, the reason with three characteristics is meaningless, that is, without effect. Other, that is, if the reason does not have what is to be established, it is unreasonable, meaning that it exists only in what is to be established. By "for whom other is unreasonable" etc., by showing the following and reversing ways in detail, it is established that other unreasonableness itself is the only characteristic of the reason. For whom there is the only characteristic of other unreasonableness itself, that is the only characteristic, which is regarded as the reason by worldly people or fully enlightened ones, not others. Because by force, these three same-category properties etc. will lead to the fourth characteristic, so it is also the fourth characteristic, or not the fourth characteristic, because in some cases, it can be with one characteristic, or with two characteristics, or with three characteristics, thus, the only characteristic of other unreasonableness itself will...
