Therefore, (they think) it is because other things will enter (consciousness), not because of attachment. They say that characteristics like non-discrimination do not exist in the entering and exiting of the world. But that is not correct, because changing the characteristics of something will not establish the nature of things themselves, but only describe them as they are, and try to distinguish between known and unknown properties. For example, hardness itself is a reasonable characteristic. If it were not so, it would be refuted by the error of impossibility. The characteristic of manifestation is none other than non-discrimination and non-erroneousness. Therefore, it must be undoubtedly admitted that it is non-erroneous, because it is a valid measure. It is also non-discriminating, because it directly takes its own characteristics as its object, and because it is impossible to express its own characteristics in language, wisdom has been proven to be inexpressible. Therefore, the wise have explained the characteristic of following reason. Those who have discrimination will also not enter or exit from this characteristic. For example, if it is determined that the knowledge of the shape of a vase, universals, numbers, etc., and the knowledge of knowing the essence of things, and other knowledge such as the shell is yellow, etc., which are considered to be manifestations, are in any case manifestations accompanied by discrimination and confusion, then they will withdraw from clinging to things such as numbers, etc., which are considered to be their objects. However, they will cling to and enter into the unindicated characteristics of blue, etc., thinking that that is the thing itself. Just as the non-discriminating manifestation also enters (consciousness), this has already been stated at the beginning. If that is the case, then it is not reasonable to regard the single characteristic of non-discrimination as reasonable, but not non-erroneous. For example, what is very famous before entering (consciousness) should be taken as the characteristic of those who want to enter (consciousness).

The unrenowned of the ground is not, because that is the same as non-existence. To be certain as non-erroneous is not prior to not deceiving what is to be done, because, because those who see the other shore cannot know the meaning of knowing its fruit without discernment, because the power of those things is always to be inferred from the fruit, and because it is of the nature of being able to obtain the meaning of how to closely establish as it is. Even if it is later determined as it is, it is not with fruit, if asked because it does not enter into that either? That is not a fault, because, like the minds of tangled hair and so on, it would also become valid, it would become a fault of being too broad, therefore it must be said without error, this is what is shown. Also, saying that the cause of uncertainty before entering is the very one who sees the other shore is also uncertain, those who see the other shore will become uncertain somewhere, who has doubts about this? If that is the case, then they will become uncertain about anything, and if that is the case, those will become without mind. Because, even the young of domestic animals who enter the habit of knowledge born from the power of habit think that this is the accomplishment of happiness. This is not happiness, from before entering, therefore it is seen that avoiding cliffs and taking breasts and so on. Thus, even sentient beings with unreal habitual desires and sorrows and fears and so on, also by habit, without relying on remembering similar dharmas and so on, the power of clearly arising appearance is the object. Where there is no habit, the power of those themselves is to be measured by the fruit, but not in all places. This also explains the determination of the sign of smoke and so on. Because, on that, also the fruit of that and not that, smoke and so on, is by nature the nature of mutual dependence. The cause determined by that dependence is also habit and so on.
