One characteristic is explained, and by manifestly examining consistency with incompatible things and things with common attributes, and opposition from things with different attributes, the second characteristic is explained. Both are the nature of being incompatible, and the nature of entering into common attributes, and from the different aspects to be proven, being the opposite, this is called the third characteristic. Since it possesses the three characteristics such as the dharma of the aspect, it is not considered that the reason has three characteristics, because they are incompatible with the very path of correct knowledge. On the other hand, since it is the main thing, one characteristic is explained by what is called the nature of being incompatible, not the dharma of the aspect, etc., because they are not the main thing, or because they do not act at all, in order to explain this, so it is said, for example, etc. If there is a relationship of not arising without it, then shouldn't this third way be a good reason? The third way, etc., is said, whatever has one branch of incompatibility, it is like that, and those are also the reason, and also the reason, therefore it is the reason of one branch of incompatibility. Whatever has other, etc., is to summarize the meaning as it is said. The two examples refer to the characteristics of similar dharma and dissimilar dharma. Non-cause refers to the understanding of what is to be proven. Whatever has incompatibility, what is the use of the three? This is the ending. Whatever does not have incompatibility, what is the benefit of the three? This should be removed by half. In order to show that the three ways do not possess the relationship of not arising without it, so it is said because it is its son, etc. Among them, etc., in order to prove one characteristic of the reason, so the example is shown in detail, how can things and non-things be the nature of existence? Because it can be observed in any way. For this, there is no nature of combination or nature of meaning outside of the examples of similar dharma and dissimilar dharma, because the collection of things and non-things are all included. Therefore

Because there is nothing other than earth, and other dharmas in terms of direction are not reasonable, and because there is no contradiction, this is a single characteristic. The term "in any way" means some of the terms such as "is." The term "existing self-nature" should also be connected with "in any way" here. Therefore, the meaning is this: in any way it is not existent, because in any way it is an object of focus. Now, in order to show another example of the second characteristic of reason, it is explained: "The moon is not rabbit-bearing, or the rabbit-bearing is not hail" is the subject. In order to show the moon that is widely known in the world, or because it is named as the moon, this is the reason. Dissimilar dharmas are bees and so on. Another second characteristic should be explained: this that I have experienced is done by this bee, because the reason for the bee's descent is that it has the means of obtaining origin. The bee, that is, the touch of Patanga's descent obtains origin, that is, the meaning of where it exists. If one wants to state it universally, one should look at the meaning of other words. The eye is the excellent power of the holder of existing form, because when there is no damage and one wants to see form, it acts by means of prior conceptualization, and in order to completely cut off form, dissimilar dharmas are the ears and so on. "That" refers to form. Here, for all three reasons, because there is no common aspect, it is the second way. I and the pot, etc., what does not exist in any way is self-nature, like the horn of a focused donkey. For this, there is no example of dissimilar dharma. All collections of things such as pots are subjects. "The self-nature that does not exist in any way is" this is the commitment. Non-existence is also placed as an example of similar dharma. Among them, the difference of what is to be established precedes, and the difference of what establishes shows, and there is no third other than things and non-things. Or, the horn of a donkey, etc., exists in any way.
