The so-called "Bhaṇi, is knowledge" etc., is the remainder (unfinished meaning). Or, this is to understand the difference of occasions. If someone thinks that direct perception is the only thing that needs to be proven by inference, then "through valid cognition" etc. are mentioned. If, like direct perception, inference also needs to be proven by other inferences, then it will lead to endlessness. If inference, as a means of proof, does not need to be proven by other valid cognitions, then what needs to be proven by direct perception etc. will also not need to be proven, because there is no difference. Proving the Buddhist argument through direct perception and other valid cognitions is not established. If valid cognitions do not need to rely on other valid cognitions, then there will be no certainty that "direct perception etc. are valid cognitions." If this is the case, all expressions will be interrupted. By "before holding valid cognition" etc. to answer, this is how it is shown: Even if valid cognition relies on other valid cognitions to determine its own nature, expressions will not be interrupted, because it does not need to rely on other valid cognitions when fully determining the meaning. If the meaning can be fully determined, then all expressions can be completed only through this, then what is the use of examining whether one's own nature is certain or uncertain? This is for the sake of determining the meaning, this is the meaning of the summary. To explain the meaning of the branch, the so-called "before holding" means before the certainty of "this is valid cognition." The so-called "through one's own nature" is through the nature of fully determining the meaning. The so-called "not relying" means that when fully determining one's own meaning, there is no need to rely on other valid cognitions. This is to understand one's own meaning, from after the certainty, it is measured by inference and other valid cognitions. Just as someone says, if the meaning is not understood, no one will focus on the mind, if it is understood, it is understood through inference. If someone thinks that it is unreasonable to fully determine one's own meaning without understanding the mind. As it is said: Focus

If it is not directly perceived, then seeing the meaning will not be perfectly accomplished. If someone doubts, saying, 'How is it unreasonable?' etc., having said these, it is understood. If that is the case, then non-valid cognition should also, in this way, become its own cause, shouldn't it? The answer is, 'Non-valid cognition also, for its own purpose,' etc. Non-valid cognition exists because it appears like valid cognition; merely by its existence, it completely negates its own error. Therefore, it is erroneous, completely negating the meaning of error, and it cannot be considered that it has no other valid cognition, so it is considered to be from another. However, isn't this the same with valid cognition? For example, it sometimes appears not to be like its own valid cognition, doesn't it? Therefore, 'the non-suchness of things,' etc., is said. 'The former' refers to non-valid cognition. 'Grasping' refers to seizing. 'As it is' refers to an example of incongruity. This is explained thus: Just as valid cognition grasps suchness, non-valid cognition does not grasp error in the same way. For example, it is only determined that it is valid cognition at the moment it arises, not that it is always valid cognition. This is because it always appears like valid cognition. 'That also,' etc., concludes non-valid cognition from another. Alternatively, 'the cause is from the flawed' is related to 'wisdom.' 'Just that' refers to the domain of objects of other forms and the domain of flawed causes. If someone thinks that if the correctness of these wisdoms is grasped, then they will grasp error, and in order to grasp those that are also correct, relying on other valid cognitions, then this will lead to infinite regress. 'Its moment of arising,' etc. 'This' refers to knowledge of other forms and knowledge with flawed causes, so it will not lead to infinite regress. Therefore, the expressive words of Buddhists, etc., have erroneous meanings because they are words, just like the words of people saying 'fire is cold,' etc.
