That is, it is said, "arising from the power of its own cause," and so on. Furthermore, because the effectiveness of valid cognition (pramāṇa) is not different. In order to show that effectiveness, like its own nature, becomes permanent and without cause, it is said, "It is the nature of effectiveness," and so on. If it is so, what fault is there? It is said, "Without cause, it does not depend on others." If it becomes without cause, then it is either always non-existent or existent. If it becomes permanent, then it is always existent, and even if it is not said, it is already established, so it is not shown. Other faults are also explained, such as "Therefore." "Dependent on it" means dependent on valid cognition. This shows that the proposition contradicts the meaning of direct perception and inference. In this way, the nature of valid cognition is sometimes established by direct perception, and sometimes by inference that measures sequential results. If it is so, then for those who admit that it is permanent, the two valid cognitions greatly harm it. "The nature of valid cognitions," etc., for the two faults that others have spoken of, the method of establishing that they are not allowed to enter is doubted. When the nature of valid cognition is revealed by the revealers, then it will be observed, otherwise it is not so, therefore, even if it is permanent, it will not become the fault of being observed at all times, nor will it become the fault of the result being permanent. Because admitting dependence on others is itself the production of the result, it is not unique. Therefore, it is thought that due to other causes, closeness and non-closeness, the result will become sometimes existent and sometimes non-existent. "The permanent thing," etc., is said to refute. Manifestation and dependence on others are manifestation and dependence on others. In the previous examination of what was heard, the permanent manifestation has already been widely refuted, and it has also been shown that dependence on others is not wisdom for things that have no benefit to bestow. Therefore, "its nature," refers to the nature and result of valid cognition, etc., nature is self-nature. The two contradictory aspects, because of the contradiction and how

It is unreasonable to consider that there are faults in both sides of the division. It is also unreasonable to consider that it is neither of the two, because if there is no mutually exclusive nature of one negating the other, then these natures will not arise. One might think that it is unreasonable to negate at that time, because it is contradictory to establish existence and negation on one thing. Because the refutation is very clear, it is not stated. Now, after accepting the latter three schools, the refutation will be explained, i.e., "things from ability," etc. One part is the school of otherness. Mentioning the nature of both is to indicate approximately that the school of the nature of neither should also be accepted. Or, on that, also because of the nature of negating the nature of both, it abandons the nature of both. For this third school, also because knowledge and ability are related to permanence, it will become permanent. If asked: How does it become permanent? The answer is: "If not," etc., is stated. It is not like that. If knowledge related to ability becomes impermanent, then at that time ability will not become permanent. If asked: From what is it known? The answer is: Because the nature does not follow one, it means that the self-nature does not follow one. In order to show that the nature does not follow one, it is said, "Because of ability," etc. If knowledge is impermanent, then the knowledge of that ability will become two natures of being related and unrelated. It is also unreasonable for one to have two mutually contradictory natures, because it will become one being destroyed, and the name of otherness will also be interrupted. In the state of the second distinction, it is said, "If how," etc. Through "Therefore," etc., the fault of the establishment itself existing in the establishment is explained. Like this, because the nature of firmness and non-firmness are different, the two aspects of things are also indivisible, because they are complete in themselves, so it is impossible not to have the ability to become the nature of other conditions later, and if it does, it will only do other things, not the ability that has become its own nature. It does not admit ability as the nature of things.
