Earth, etc. When the mind obscures the nature of others through the door of its own appearance, that mind with discrimination is conventional because things do not appear as they are. And what is the nature that it establishes is called conventional. It also exists in the conventional, therefore, because it is established by it, what can be expressed and what expresses with words and meanings, all abide in the conventional, but not in the ultimate truth, because it does not exist, and because all confused consciousness is without an object. If it is said that even if it is the one of the ultimate truth, how do words establish with the characteristics of establishment and refutation, by the power of imputed names? Thus it is said, such as "like this," etc., with gestures, etc., eye expressions, etc., should be taken. It should be combined with "because of the difference of fast and slow differences, etc., minds are different." This difference of fast, etc., is also not done by making it clear, because clarity has been prevented. What is called its clarity is the constant clarity. It is also not a branch of the name of the power of the general, because it has been prevented and not understood. The general is not a branch of the name, because it always changes into a name. Gestures are of prevention, etc. The word "etc." should take establishment, permission, and pursuit, etc. The knowledge of those, that is, understanding, its branch, that is, the cause, this gesture, etc., will change. Likewise, words will also change, this is an unfinished word. Therefore, words are related to meanings. It is accepted as constant. As it is said, to this, it is said that these words are external objects, etc. Whether it is constant or changing to impermanent, the relationship between words and meanings, the real thing, does not exist, because words do not understand external objects, and because they are not related to them, as it was previously said that the meaning of words has been examined. If it is also shown to be unrelated, it will be too extreme. If so, then why

If asked, what is it for? It is to show the meaning one wants to express. Having said this, the meaning one wants to express is not shown by the thing to be expressed itself. Then what is it? It is shown by the sign itself, therefore it is a showing. This is what is said. Like this, from uttering a sound, a conceptualization arises that ascertains the meaning, but it does not ascertain the meaning one wants to express. If the knowledge of the sound cannot ascertain, then how can it be the meaning of the sound? If that is the case, by what sign does it show it? What is the connection between the meaning one wants to express and it? Having said "those, its," etc. Because sounds are all the result of the meaning one wants to express, they are ascertained in oneself through direct perception and non-apprehension, so it is the nature of a cause-and-effect relationship. If that is the case, then convention is meaningless, because cause-and-effect things can be ascertained solely through direct perception and non-apprehension. If asked, what is used to ascertain cause and effect? Having said "what cause and effect," etc. Thinking like this: if it is only the meaning one wants to express, it can be ascertained simultaneously through the cause-and-effect things themselves, but the difference in the meaning one wants to express, and from other continuums, cannot be ascertained except through convention, so in order to ascertain it, convention is made. However, how can this be ascertained through convention? Like this, at the time of convention, if there is a difference in the meaning one wants to express, then at that time, having made this convention, later at the time of expression, it will become a cause for inferring the difference in the meaning one wants to express, why is there no such method? If that is the case, convention is also made after uttering a sound, if that is the case, inferring the difference in the meaning one wants to express from that sound itself will become the fault of mutual dependence. Like this, through the power of convention, the sound will make the difference in the meaning one wants to express clear, and if the sound does not infer the difference in the meaning one wants to express, it is not from the sound, so it is clear that it is mutual dependence. If asked, this fault does not exist, because the expression of sound is all done following one's own appearance, like two people with confused cataracts saying two moons, what is there to argue about at that time? In short, the sound itself.
