If it's not for benefiting, then what's the use of clinging to this? This statement eliminates uncertainty. However, isn't it seen that even what is not for benefiting is clung to? For example, the ear that couldn't be used before, later becomes usable through the power of mantras and medicines, etc. If that's the case, then this argument is uncertain, isn't it? The answer to that is: By the power of mantras and medicines, etc. (Tibetan: སྔགས་དང་སྨན་སོགས་ནུས་པ་ཡིས།), etc., are mentioned. The word "etc." includes removing earwax, etc. How can it become usable? This means, if it really becomes useless. However, if even if it's useless, it's just clinging to the arising of a difference, then: Because of permanence. (Tibetan: རྟག་ཕྱིར།), etc., are mentioned. Well, if that's the case, because the basis is impermanent, by improving it, will the ear, which is permanent, also be clung to? The basis itself is impermanent. (Tibetan: རྟེན་མི་རྟག་པ་ཉིད་ཡིན་ཡང༌།), etc., are mentioned. The phrase "even if it's impermanent" is because it will perish at another time. And, because it's the same entity until it perishes, it's impossible to create a difference in permanence, so what's the use of improving it? Promising to reveal the good qualities and pointing out the faults is: Among that, the good quality is that it exists and is tangible. (Tibetan: དེ་ལ་བོགས་ནི་ཡོད་ལ་རེག), "This" refers to the good quality. If it's not existent, even then, because it's related to the basis, will it become that way? The connection with the basis is non-existent. (Tibetan: རྟེན་དང་འབྲེལ་བ་ཡོད་མིན་ཏེ།), etc., are mentioned. Space doesn't have parts, does it? (Tibetan: ནམ་མཁའི་ཆ་ཤས་མེད་མིན་ཏེ།), For what was said, even if space has parts, if at that time it's promised that it's permanent, then all the refutations against the side of space being partless and permanent are the same, this is comparing: Even if space has parts. If there's no control, even if it exists in that place. For what was said, if it's just its moment. (Tibetan: གལ་ཏེ་དེ་ཡི་སྐད་ཅིག་ཉིད།), etc., are mentioned, that's all. By the winds that make it clear. (Tibetan: གསལ་བར་བྱེད་པའི་རླུང་རྣམས་ཀྱི།), For what was said, when for sound and ear. (Tibetan: གང་ཚེ་སྒྲ་དང་རྣ་བ་ལ།), etc., are mentioned. "When" means from what cause. Thus, immediately it says

Because in the present state, there is no distinguishable difference for the permanent dharma, so it is unreasonable to say it is perfect. Therefore, from wind and so on, it is unreasonable to determine the ability. This will be related to what is said. In order to temporarily and extensively show how perfection is unreasonable, "other, non-other" and so on are mentioned. Is what becomes perfect other or non-other? There are two possibilities, because things have no other forms. In the first case, it is not established that the ear and sound, etc., perfect, because they are doing other things. When making a vase, it is not perfecting the woolen cloth. Through what means of perfection related to it will those become perfect? The establishment of a connection with those perfections is also not established. Like this, because it is admitted to be other, there is no connection of its own nature. Even if it becomes an other connection, it is only the characteristic of cause and effect, because there is no benefit to others. If that is the case, if it is cause and effect itself, then it will become the perfection of everything, because the nature of cause and ear and sound exists in everything. For the second case, faults are also explained, that is, for the case of non-other. Like that, the so-called "like that" refers to the nature of the ear and sound. The so-called "this" refers to perfection. If that is the case, because it is a permanent dharma, no one will perfect this, even if one wants to generate consciousness from that perfection, it will become the fault that consciousness is permanent. Permanence itself is a fault. Therefore, it is concluded with "from the wind" and so on. Therefore, the so-called "clarity" and so on, is to establish that sound is impermanent, and to establish validity. The argument is: whatever is occasional is produced by a cause with arising and ceasing, like the consciousness of the clear object of a vase. The consciousness of sound is also occasional, which is the reason of nature. Because it is impossible for that consciousness to always exist, it is not unestablished. Because obviousness has been eliminated, it is not uncertain, and it is consistent.
