Sometimes, they consider things to be eternal through the negation of non-origination and destruction, which are the essence of absence, or through the essence of negation that is not. Among these, for the first view, the eternality of becoming an object of knowledge is not established because of the uncertainty of things like sky lotuses. For example, even if origination and destruction are negated for a sky lotus, the eternality of becoming an entity is not established, and similarly, it is also the case for objects of knowledge, so the reason is uncertain. If that is the case, it will not become a valid means of knowledge, just like a sky flower. Because it has also been shown to be unestablished. It is said, "Origination itself and destruction itself," and so on. Negation is called refutation. Therefore, "therefore" is said. If it is the second view, then, they do not rely on their own proofs, but on the nature of entities. This should not be said. What shows this is "negation of not being," and so on, that's all. Whoever expresses the meaning of the words of knowledge objects through false inference, for those who say that, "three ways" and so on are said. What is called clarification is that inference arises from nature, result, and non-manifestation, which cannot be negated, because this is related to things. No one can change the nature of things, because its characteristic is the arising of nature. Changing the nature is not doing anything to it, because that would be too extreme. Therefore, no one can harm what is established through valid cognition. If it is not so, if something with the characteristic of valid cognition is harmed, then its characteristic will be refuted, because there is no trust in all cases, so nothing will become a valid means of knowledge. What shows this is "by a person" and so on. As it is said, "The mind is called," and "That itself is the nature," because the nature does not have destruction, so it is said not to be destroyed. And again it is said, "How wonderful! I am this imperishable one, possessing the Dharma nature of eternal constancy." Because there is no destruction, therefore it is not destroyed, which is the meaning of making it eternal. The word "How wonderful!" is a word of calling.

. The word "etc." in "species, etc." includes qualities and substances, etc. The species, etc., are also established as valid by means of valid cognition. Thus, the six meanings of words have been examined. Any inference that knows the connection that is harmful to me has also been established in the state of selflessness. However, if the Vedas are not valid cognition, how can they be harmed by inference? If valid cognition can also be harmed, why wouldn't inference be harmed by it? To address this doubt, it is stated, "related to objects," etc. "It" here refers to inference. Because sound is merely the reason for intention, and is not related to the object to be measured, it is not a valid cognition for it. Inference, however, arises from the power of the sign of the connection of its own nature and what arises from it, and because it is related to the object, it is itself valid cognition, and therefore causes harm. "Arising from it" means arising from sound. If sound could become a valid cognition for objects even without a connection, then it would be too extreme. To illustrate this, it is stated, "from the words of a person," etc. Why wouldn't the statement "the fire sacrifice will not become high" be valid cognition? Because there is no difference in that neither has a connection. To show that there is no difference, it is stated, "not relying on examples at all," etc. If it is possible to rely on a person because no fault has been found, then the same is true for the Vedas. Just as its nature is true in meaning, error is also possible, so there is no difference. Regarding it not being valid cognition, it is stated, "thus," etc. The special thing that is said is that it is not possible to express the words spoken by a person, such as "sacrificing a person will not be born in a high place," etc. To illustrate this, it is stated, "sound understands meaning," etc. Even if sound understands meaning, but just because a wise person hates it, he says that the fire sacrifice will not be born in a high place, and that named person said it, then it
