If asked: Like a blind man holding a cane. It is said, "Like a blind man holding a cane," meaning holding, similar to that, thus combining the words and phrases. If asked: What fault is there in relying on that? It is said, "That is what he leads," etc. Here, "that" refers to the Vedas. "He" refers to the speech of a person. "One will fall into the wrong path" is to clarify the meaning of inversion. Furthermore, therefore, for all the world, the Vedas, which appear like a single eye, should not be understood as blind. Saying this is unreasonable. By "independent one," etc., the meaning of the present context is concluded, and it has already been shown that it is unreasonable for power to depend on a person to generate knowledge. Even if it is conceded that power also depends on a person to generate, even so, because it depends on a person, even if it generates knowledge, it is clearly not a प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure, प्रमाण, pramana, measure) here, and the meaning of the words should be combined in this way. Also, the word "also" is in another order, and should be looked at after "when generating knowledge also." To clarify this meaning, it is said, "Understand the meaning as it is," etc. "One should not examine this प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure, प्रमाण, pramana, measure)," because "That is what he leads, one will fall into the wrong path" has already shown the previous unreasonableness. If that is so, when the Vedas exist as a प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure, प्रमाण, pramana, measure), the lineage of teachers and students, the beginningless realization, will also become without fault. To show that what was said is unreasonable, it is said, "Thus, for a while," etc. Here, the negative word "does not exist" should be added. If asked: How is it unreasonable? It is answered: Because of those. If a blind man becomes the lineage, what will happen from that? It is said, "When a blind man leads a blind man," etc. As it is said in the discourse of the hermits: Just like the words of the blind regarding the differences of forms, the words of a person will not become a प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure, प्रमाण, pramana, measure) for such kinds of things. Thus it is said. Therefore, the relationship between teacher and student,
