Even if one doesn't want to look with open eyes, one actually sees. Therefore, for consciousnesses such as the eye, it is not actually possible because of wanting. Some of one's own schools do not want to say that there is no error, because the error of knowledge such as yellow conch is also not manifest. In this way, it is not inference because it is not produced from a sign. Because it is not deceptive, it is also valid cognition. Precisely for this reason, Master Dignāga did not mention non-erroneousness as a definition. In order to show that erroneous and conventional knowledge, as well as inference, etc., are like seeming perception, the teacher considers such an aspect of being free from conceptualization and non-deceptive as the definition. The word "with a cataract" is a synonym for ignorance, like "eliminating the cataract of the ignorant." That which arises from a cataract is with a cataract, meaning deception. One answers with "it is not so," etc. It is not a valid cognition of two aspects, that is, either it is not deceptive as it appears, or it is not deceptive as it is apprehended. Among these, here, it is not non-deceptive as it appears, because the yellow that appears as such is not obtained. It is also not non-deceptive as it is apprehended, because it apprehends the very yellow that performs the function of a specific object. Its own functional object is not obtained, and even if it is not deceptive for an unapprehended object, it is not valid cognition, because it would be too extreme, because for knowledge of sound, etc., the unapprehended appearance, etc., is also obtained. If one thinks that even if the apprehended color is not obtained, the shape is definitely obtained, therefore, "different from color," etc., is said, just for understanding. If one reads "another aspect," etc., and shows it. It is not right to judge that merely being non-deceptive in functioning is valid cognition without relying on the aspect, because it would be a fault that the aspect of the object is not valid cognition. "Its own nature" is the nature of the self-appearance of consciousness. The word "etc." indicates the aspect of things and whiteness, etc., themselves.

This shows that it contradicts the words of the scholars such as "the object of the nature of what is produced is measurable." It must be determined that not deceiving in acting is produced from another valid cognition in which the habit of experiencing the previous meaning is fully matured. The cause of the complete maturation of the habit of knowing the conch as yellow is the white conch itself, because its whiteness makes it fully mature. Whatever does not deceive from the cause of the complete maturation of habit, whatever arises from it, is called that. If you ask how the self-cognitions of happiness, etc., are manifest, then "mind," etc., are mentioned. What is called "reason" refers to the inability to express, etc. Here, even if the reason of mind is not mentioned, then what is the reason for the inability to express for sense consciousness? It is the same for that, or for this, the consciousness of the yogi is also mind, and that would also be interrupted. Because it is well known in the scriptures, the definition of mind is not made here, and because the harm of valid cognition has already been completed by the scholar, we should not do it either, it is thought. By "not being another knower," etc., the doubt of the Vaibhashika's view is welcomed, not only is it not self-cognition, but it is not a knower of external objects, that is not the nature of consciousness either, this is the conclusion. The conclusion of those is that we want to know the consciousness of the object. It is refuted by "external object," etc. This is said to contradict the commitment. Because at the time when the consciousness with the general object as the object and the experience of happiness, etc., are simultaneous, then by what can it become known by the consciousness indicating the same meaning? For the time being, it is not the eye consciousness, etc., itself with the external as the object, because its object is external, and happiness, etc., are to be known internally, and because it is desired to be known by the mind consciousness. At that time, mind consciousness is also not possible, because consciousnesses arise sequentially.
