Even if the form of that is not obtained, it will completely cut off the object. If you think so, then doubts are welcomed with "hundreds" and so on. This "this" refers to this consciousness. The word "etc." includes, for example, lamps, blue, illuminating, etc. The answer is given with "this dissimilar metaphor," etc. Swords, etc., are the cause of the arising of elephants, etc., and are therefore known as cutting off, etc. When the "etc." of swords, etc., is added, the various joints of a special elephant will arise. Similarly, when firewood meets fire, it will give rise to the nature of coal, etc. Similarly, vases, etc., will also be able to generate consciousness by the power of appearance. In this way, consciousness does not produce some benefit to the object, but the object itself should generate the difference of consciousness. Therefore, how can it not do anything at all, it will become its cognition. This eye, etc., will also become cognition, therefore, the fruit of consciousness itself is considered to be its cognition, which is also not cognition. Venerable Śīlarakṣita says, consciousness

Then, consciousness will transform into the nature of completely severing the meaning. If it is not so, then please clearly state how consciousness is the very nature of completely severing the meaning. If it is so, and the nature of consciousness is established as being no different from completely severing the meaning, then it is established as mere consciousness. If one thinks: by what is the meaning completely severed? That is also like this. If it cannot be indicated, what difference is there in this? Therefore, it is said, "Without indicating the meaning-consciousness." "Transforms into" is the remainder. If, again, all uncommon things cannot be indicated, even so, it is only saying the imputed conventional truth. If it is not so, then the distinctions of form, etc., should also not be spoken of. Therefore, since consciousness cognizes meaning by way of an undetermined nature, it will be clearly indicated without doubt. Therefore, When things are established by way of an undifferentiated nature, since things are well established, this is nothing at all. If one thinks: when the meaning to be severed does not exist, then by what will this be completely severed? Then it is said, "By what," etc., saying that its nature is to sever into a clear nature, for example, just as tranquility itself is by way of happiness, etc. Merely indicating that happiness is different does not change tranquility itself. Therefore, if one says, like indicating a difference, "It is severing blue, not yellow," even so, that is the very nature. Similarly, just as it appears in the nature of blue, etc., it is said that way, because consciousness is the nature of self-awareness. If one asks: by what power is it said that way, what is the meaning of self-awareness? It is said, "One's own nature is the object of knowledge," etc. If one says, "One strives to understand the meaning," etc., because there is no need to know one's own nature, this is like fearing the reproach that a young woman does not accept. That is to say, if consciousness is the nature of clarity,

If things are like that, then self-manifestation is not dependent on others, but realizing one's own self-nature is not knowledge, because it is the manifestation of things themselves that has a function. If one has a function for one thing, it is unreasonable to have a function for another at that time without completely abandoning it. Here, the Lamp suspects that it is confused, so it explains other aspects, such as "like this" and so on. If there is no self-manifestation, then how can the manifestation outside of this be established? It says "for example" and so on, for example, even if there is no self-manifestation, the eye and so on are established as manifesting to objects such as form, and the same is true here, that is, to knowledge as well. If you think, because the self is close and completely abandoned, why only manifest the external object? It says "to external objects" and so on. If you ask why there is no ability to manifest the self? It says "of things" and so on, as it is said: Fire is the burner, not the sky, what is there to argue about this? It is said that it is said like this. However, it is answered with "if" and so on, that is, "striving to understand things", what is said is also irrelevant, because object awareness is not other than knowledge, like this, awareness and object and object separate awareness, knowledge itself is expressed by these names. For it, it is for object awareness. If it becomes its nature, then it is when it becomes the nature of knowledge. When what becomes the function of object awareness, what else is there that is different from the self-nature of knowledge that becomes the function of object awareness? It is not that awareness has a function for the self. If you think, when knowledge and object awareness become names, how can object awareness be the nature of knowledge? It says "things are the nature of experience" and so on, this is the nature of experiencing things, the nature should be promised. If it is not like this, then how can knowledge have a function for it? It is unreasonable to have a function for non-existent rabbit horns and so on. If so, then its thing experience.
