Desiring to prove it, others say, "If not for knowledge..." and so on. By the phrase "completely severed," it is shown that something graspable different from knowledge is established. By "when it appears clearly," it is shown to be directly perceived. To prove this by way of becoming a paradox, "therefore, like that..." and so on are said. By "external object meaning..." and so on, an answer is given. To this, if the meaning of an external object is established by direct perception, then is it many different atoms, or one coarse object with limbs composed of them, or not composed of them? To this, first of all, the first case is not possible, because for the knowledge of partless corporeal atoms, there is no separate recognition, and one always experiences knowledge with a coarse image. Or, because those knowledges have no separate recognition, it should be shown and summarized in a seven-edged manner. The argument is: for knowledge that wants to appear as direct perception, if it does not appear with its own image, then it is not something to be grasped as direct perception, like a lotus in the sky. Knowledge that wants to appear as direct perception, if it does not appear with the image possessed by a corporeal object composed of many atoms, this is an unperceived non-pervasion, because the appearance of one's own image itself pervades direct perception. To prove that pervasion, "the difference of parts..." and so on are said. Also, if only the collection arises and ceases, this is an established tenet. Therefore, someone thinks that each atom will not appear. As the monk Guisheng said, "The atoms' own independence, to arise individually does not exist. Therefore, the atoms, to appear individually is not possible." To show that what he said is not an answer, "they together..." and so on are said. "In those states" refers to the state of being together. Furthermore, if the atoms are without parts, then it should not be said to be corporeal, therefore explaining that the proposition contradicts one's own words is because those atoms are tiny...

Having mentioned "ya wa" etc. That which is the ultimate fineness of any essence, that is called that. It is shown in this way that if the distinction of subtle limbs does not become not the nature of subtle, if it is thought to be indivisible, then like its feelings etc., it will not be established as having a body, because there is no difference. With "similar moments" etc., to answer the monk Dehu, he said, for example, because similar moments arise one after another, even if they are grasped by perception due to illusion, just like the illusion of generating distinctions to sounds etc., similarly, the same kind of atoms, those without intermediate intervals, when grasped together, will produce the illusion of the mind that thinks it is coarse. If that is the case, the indivisible embodied many particles, because there is no knowledge and reason. It is said that this is not an established reason. Using "one's own power of action" etc., to explain refutation. The so-called "own power of action itself" means that it is shown by definite grasp that there is no need to rely on the function of reason and scripture. In this way, even if perception arises without distinction, how only any part of the aspect that is completely grasped generates distinction, that itself is considered perception, because it is expressible. What does not generate, even if it is grasped, is the same as not grasping. If that is the case, the reason is not not established, like this, because there is no knowledge and reason, so for the knowledge that wants to become perception, because it does not appear as the cause of distinction, so this meaning that wants to become perception is not wanting to become perception. Also, thinking that the illusion of coarseness itself, that is also not correct, like this, if this is established by valid cognition, then it will be established as illusion, for example, the moment itself because it is established by valid cognition, so clinging to permanence is established as illusion. Similarly, atoms are not established by valid cognition, because those themselves are to be analyzed. This coarseness is also not an illusion of the mind, because it is clearly visible. It is distinction.
