You yourself also caused the Bhagavan to attain eminence and so forth. It is because of this that dependent arising is shown without being inverted. From ascertaining its meaning, trust arises in the causes and effects of good destinies without being inverted. And also, through the sequence of hearing, thinking, and meditating, the realization of selflessness of persons and phenomena, which are the truly good causes, also arises. If it arises, then the cause of samsara, ignorance, will cease. If it ceases, then at that time, because all fundamental afflictions and obscurations of knowledge will cease, therefore, through being separated from all obscurations, liberation will be attained. Therefore, the words of the Bhagavan who shows dependent arising are the jewel that causes the attainment of eminence and so forth, because this is the main thing, so merely by speaking of dependent arising without inversion, one is praising the Bhagavan. Dependent arising is also considered by others to rely on incompatible causes and measures and contradictory things. Therefore, by eliminating that, the meaning of the Bhagavan's having spoken truthfully is shown. And also, in order to summarize the meaning to be expressed of all the treatises that will be explained, therefore, the many distinctions of dependent arising that have been spoken of as before are held, this is the general meaning. The meaning of the branches is to be spoken, wherein, "Who originates dependently?" That is to say, "Separate from nature, power, both, and self and so forth." and so forth, should all be connected. Among them, in "Who" and so forth, although "Who" has already been spoken of in general, it refers to the Buddha Bhagavan, because it is impossible for others to have the qualities spoken of as before. Dependent arising refers to relying on causes and conditions, and correctly relying on it, the arising of the aggregates and so forth, that is dependent arising. As it was said before, it is shown by whom the aggregates and so forth that are produced by the power of causes and conditions were spoken. "Arising" is shown as if it were different, but dependent

If one wants to understand that the very nature of dependent arising is understood as "pure" by abandoning other distinctions, then it is taught in this way. Or, that which causes to arise is called "arising," that is, in what is called "kṛtyalyāṭo barabahulam," "bahula" is the root "gha" that indicates the agent of causing to arise. Then, the word "pratītya" is to be combined, because "subsupetimayūrābhyāṃ sakala," etc., have themselves arisen. Or, there is no combination at all. If so, then it did not exist before, so it was not done; later, was it necessary or inserted from the mind? Nature is the nature of the particles, darkness, and courage that are universally conceived by the Samkhyas, that is, the Pradhana. Power is Ishvara. The two refer to those things themselves as being dual. Self refers to the Purusha who gives and receives, and is also samsara other than that. By mentioning "etc.," time and so forth are included, and their actions are the nature of the cause. To be separated from this means to be empty of its function. Regarding this, the Bhagavan said: 'That sprout is not made by itself, nor made by another, nor made by both, nor emanated by Ishvara, nor transformed by time, nor born from nature, nor dependent on one cause, nor born from no cause.' This shows the distinctions of Pradhana, Ishvara, two causes, the Brahma of sound, and the self (Purusha). If so, why is it said that such dependent arising is not momentary? The answer is: it is not so. Moving, what is called moving, is unstable, a synonym for momentary. Because for others, moving itself is not allowed, this is what is thought. Regarding this, the Bhagavan said: 'All conditioned things are momentary. Where is there an action that does not abide? These things that arise themselves are said to be doing that very action.' This shows the distinction of permanent things. If so, then relying on dependent arising, the establishment of the relationship of karma and result, etc., would not be possible, because it is moving. Therefore, karma, etc., are mentioned, thinking that this will be taught later.
