Moreover, in order to show that you do not do anything that causes destruction, this is very clear, so it is said "not doing things themselves" and so on. If it is negated by non-existence in this way, because it is related to the act of negation, the act of negating non-existence, that is, negating "not doing things," thereby showing that it is not the author of the cause of destruction. If it is not the author, how can it be the cause? Therefore, there is no cause of destruction. If the Auricular School wants to prove that destruction itself has a cause and show the measure, then it is said "when things exist" and so on. Like this, when things exist, destruction is impossible, because it would lead to not existing even for a moment. It is also impossible before it is produced, because things that have not been produced should not be destroyed. For example, the son of a barren woman and other things that have not been produced will not be destroyed. It is also impossible after a long time, because destruction is also not allowed in the third moment and so on, just like burning from ashes. However, destruction occurs in the second moment immediately after the thing. In this way, just like seedlings and so on, because the time is fixed, it is established that "destruction has a cause." The meaning of "time is fixed" is because it is occasional. In order to prove universality through this, it is said "changing without dependence" and so on. It is not reasonable for non-dependence to be occasional, because it would lead to being constant and so on. Therefore, because it is occasional, this is proven to have a cause. In order to show that it can also be proven from this, it is said "because it arises immediately after the thing" and so on. Therefore, in this way, these three reasons are stated: destruction has a cause, because it is occasional; because it occurs immediately after the thing arises, which is also acknowledged by the Buddha; and because it has obtained the nature of not being produced, just like other moments. Dissimilar examples are rabbit horns and so on. Here is what the elucidator said.
