The term "without" means remaining. The first "etc." refers to continuity, etc. The second "etc." refers to burdens, etc. Therefore, wanting to express these aggregates of skandhas in terms of continuity, etc., it is shown that "a person is a bearer of burdens," because in the world, he is considered a person. Therefore, the Blessed One said, "Who is the person who bears burdens?" The answer is: "Reverend, this person's lineage is like this, the clan is like this, the food is eaten like this, the happiness and suffering felt are like this, the lifespan is this long," and so on, thus indicating the person. It should be understood that the nature of the aggregate of skandhas can be nominally designated in any way, but one should not understand the permanent substance that is truly existent and conceived by others. This is to explain this meaning. It should be understood in this way without any doubt, otherwise, if the bearer of burdens is also said to be different from the skandhas, then like a person, it would become not included within the skandhas. In order to cause those other skandhas of his to arise, it is said that those previous skandhas are the burdens, and those births that become the fruit are the bearers of burdens, so this is not for understanding. Speaking to clarify: If I am not acknowledged, then these words of the Thus-Gone One cannot be made meaningful. Because, monks, form is not self, monks, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are not self. Likewise, monks, this form is not you, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are not you. This is said, this is to prevent the skandhas such as form from becoming the object of pride, this is the prevention of distinction, but not the prevention of generality. If I am not acknowledged, then generality should also be prevented, because it is not "you" and "I," the prevention of distinction will not arise without the establishment of another. For example, if it is said that the left eye cannot see, then it is naturally understood that the right eye can see. If the right eye also cannot see, then mentioning the left eye is meaningless, only saying that it cannot see will be said.

Similarly, if it is said here from "form is not self" to "consciousness is not self," then it will show that there is a "self" that is incompatible with that. Even if that is unspeakable, or allowed to be other, but in any case, there is a "self." Here it says, "Distinctions are also negations." And so on. This is how it is shown: The twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates of destruction, which are the entrances for the bad intellects, namely, from "form is self" to "consciousness is self," and from "I am in form" to "I am in consciousness," and from "I am combined with form" to "I am combined with consciousness," and from "form is mine" to "consciousness is mine." In order to negate those first five views, it is beautiful to refute those who hold those views in a distinctive way. Those who hold the views of "form is self" and so on are those who hold those views,

Having thought, we have spoken of the ultimate of nature and so on up to the individual, and the genera, qualities, substances, etc. that will be spoken of, as well as sounds, meanings, valid cognitions, objects of valid cognition, etc., and things of various colors like the brilliance of jewels, and the nature of entering into the three times, and the four elements acknowledged by the Lokayatas, and the collection of Vedic sounds desired by the Vaisheshikas, without any distinction, in order to clarify, therefore, we should establish momentary destruction. The so-called clarification is to show the reason for the third characteristic of the way to establish it. Therefore, this examination of the object of teaching will show that the meaning of all the treatises is completely fulfilled. How should this be established? By the door of what has been done and what has not been done, and so on. This is because the logicians and others think that there is not a single momentary thing. By the door of what has been done and what has not been done, things are established as only two aggregates. Some of them are done, like pots and so on. Some are not done, like atoms and space and so on. Others, such as the Sthavira-vadin, etc., think that things are two aggregates by the door of momentary and non-momentary. Thus, according to their acceptance, consciousness, sound, flame, etc. are momentary, while earth and space, etc. are non-momentary. Therefore, when abiding in the distinction of such views, in order to show that those who accept what has been done should be placed on one side and the valid cognition should be spoken, therefore, "those" is said. "Because the destruction of all things abides by its own nature without depending on other causes," this shows the reason for the third characteristic. In order to clarify it, "what thing" is said. The connection is that whatever does not depend on anything, those are definitely its nature, just as the collection of immediately preceding fruits is determined to produce its own fruit. The things that have been done that have birth are also in destruction
