It is not so, because permanence and impermanence are characteristics that exist in mutual exclusion. The abandonment and complete acceptance of one aspect of a thing will not occur unless other aspects are accepted and abandoned from it. We do not prevent clinging to the term 'person' as inexpressible, because no one can deny that it depends solely on the will of the independent one. However, does the entity called 'person' exist in all its nature? Or does it not exist? This nature of things should be examined here. If it exists, then it is permanent, because what is called permanent is nothing other than that which is always existing in its nature, without destruction, and that is called permanent. As it is said: 'That whose nature is indestructible, the wise call it permanent.' Thus it is said. If it is the side of non-existence, then it is impermanent, because the characteristic of impermanence is the nature of non-existence. Therefore, since there are no other aggregates apart from moments and non-moments, and since what is not a moment is contradictory to acting sequentially and simultaneously, because the moment itself is pervasive of existence by the nature of being able to perform the function of acting. For a person, when the moment itself ceases, it is established that existence also ceases. If it is the case that a person does not exist, then why did the Blessed One, when asked: 'Is the life that which is the body? Or is life other and the body other?' say: 'This is not shown in the doctrine.' Why did he not say that it does not exist? Because he mentioned things that contradict the doctrine, etc. If the subject, the person, is established, then at that time, its dharma, whether it is the same or different, etc., should be predicted. Since the subject itself is not established, how can it show the nature of a non-existent dharma? For non-existent things like a rabbit's horn, who would predict that it is sharp, etc.? It is not possible. Therefore, in order to clarify that a person can be examined and exists, the Blessed One said: 'This is not shown in the doctrine,' but he did not say that it does not exist.

. Because the self-nature of other entities is different! Or, in order to abandon the manifest attachment to existence or non-existence, considering the thoughts of the beings to be tamed who are not endowed with the opportunity to be taught emptiness, therefore, it was not said in that way, "There is not." As it is said: Bitten by the fangs of views, and considering the destruction of actions, like a tigress carrying its cub, the Victorious One taught the Dharma. Like this, the teacher Vasubandhu and others have clearly explained the intention in the Treasury of Knowledge and the Seventy Verses on Reality and other treatises. If effort is made, therefore, that realization should be understood as such. Here, it is thought that it was not written due to fear of extensive texts. If that is the case, then how should this statement, "There are spontaneously born beings," be interpreted? Because it is to refute non-existence. It is said, and so on, that stating that sentient beings exist, in order to show various kinds of compassion, is not contradictory, which is the remainder of the statement. From which mindstream are sentient beings designated? It is with regard to the uninterrupted continuation of samsara that the Bhagavan said that sentient beings exist. If it were not so, then the conditioned phenomena that pass through the uninterrupted moments of cause and effect would also be understood as non-existent, therefore, without a future life, because a future life is not established, it would become a view that there are no beings to be tamed. Then, monks, the burden should also be taught. Taking up the burden, abandoning the burden, and carrying the burden should also be taught, wherein the burden is the five aggregates of grasping. Taking up the burden is existence. Abandoning the burden is liberation. Carrying the burden is the person, so how should what was said be interpreted? If it is said that the burden itself is not the carrier of the burden, then, having mentioned the aggregates and so on. Among them, wanting to say the aggregate itself, only the aggregates that are simultaneous are the basis for the designation of aggregate, and it has been taught that those that become cause and effect and do not arise simultaneously are a continuum, therefore, it is taught by the words of the continuum and the aggregates that become the cause of perceiving in one way, therefore, by the intention of the aggregates and so on, by the intention of the aggregates and so on, there is no contradiction in teaching the burden and the carrier of it and so on.
