In order to refute the person who is being examined, "some" and so on are mentioned. "Some" refers to the sons of the dwellers. Although they consider themselves to be sons of the Sugata, they cannot discern it from the aggregates as being the same or different by any means. In order to show how those who consider themselves to be sons of the Tathagata who teaches non-self, how could they be attached to the view of a self that is not real, it is shown with mocking words, so "considering themselves to be Sugatas" and so on are mentioned. For example, the separate authors of virtuous and non-virtuous actions, and the fruits of their own actions, whether they want them or not, are the enjoyers, and whichever previous aggregate is completely abandoned, and then takes other aggregates, whether it is a samsaric being or a liberated one, that is the self, this is the characteristic of the self. All of these are merely disputes over names because of attachment to the person. If someone asks, what is the reason for the inexpressible person? So "heretic" and so on are mentioned. If the person is different from the aggregates, then there will be attachment to the self-view that is imputed by the heretics. If that is the case, then it will lead to the self being permanent. The permanent self cannot be the author and enjoyer, etc., because it is not all-pervasive like space. The Blessed One also prohibited the extreme of the permanent self, and it contradicts the statement that "all phenomena are without self." If it is said that it is not different from the aggregates, then what about it? So "many etc. change" and so on are mentioned. If the person is the aggregates themselves, such as form, then, because it is not different from many aggregates, the person will become many, just like its own nature, but it will also be considered as one, just as it is said in the sutras, when the world is born, one person is born, like the Tathagata. The word "etc." includes impermanence etc. If that is the case, the person will also become annihilated like the aggregates. Therefore, it will lead to actions being in vain. The Blessed One also spoke of annihilation.

By refuting the opponent's view, it is established that an inexpressible person exists. To those who say "speak" and so on, you show by your own words "because it is inexpressible" that the person is not truly existent, and this is what you are revealing. The syllogism is: whatever is not spoken of as being itself or other than itself in relation to a thing is not a thing, like a lotus in the sky. The person is also not spoken of, which is not observing the distinguishing characteristics. The dissimilar dharma is feeling and so on. Furthermore, how is the pervasiveness established here? It is stated as "other thing" and so on, a thing does not transcend itself or otherness from a thing, because there is no other possibility. If it were not so, then form and so on would also become mutually inexpressible. Therefore, inexpressibility is imputed to that which is without essence and without nature, but not to a thing. How so? It is stated as "different, non-different distinctions" and so on, distinctions of difference and non-difference rely on the thing itself, but not on the non-thing. Therefore, that which is inexpressible as being itself and otherness and so on is in the non-thing itself, for that which is devoid of nature itself, it is not reasonable to show itself and otherness and so on in relation to a thing, this is explaining, because for it, there is no other possibility than difference and non-difference. Furthermore, how is there no other possibility? It is stated as "whatever this" and so on, for example, whatever is said that the person is not the nature of form and so on, then denying that it does not exist in that, is actually saying that it is other than form and so on, because for a thing, denying another thing, if another nature is not established, it is impossible to happen. The syllogism is: whatever thing is devoid of the nature of something, then it is other than that, like feeling and form. The thing called person is also devoid of the nature of form and so on, this is the reason of nature. Whatever denies that this thing is not itself, then it is denying its essence, because it is not itself and not-
