Or, can it be established through inference? For the time being, it is not directly perceived. To show this, it is like "form, etc., are known from reason," and so on. By what means can it be established by direct perception? Apart from reasoning, there is no experience of knowledge in the state of permanence and the sole nature of successively appearing forms, etc. Even if the reasoning of form, etc., is established as momentary destruction through successive experience, then what other non-difference is there? It should be said like that. Therefore, the nature of such knowledge, as the characteristic of the object of focus, is the object of the term 'non-existent' because it is not perceived, so it is thought. It is also thought that it cannot be established by inference. Thus, if it is inference, then is it the sign of nature or the sign of result? For the time being, it is not nature, because no such subject of dharma is established, so its nature is not established. Even if only the knowledge of the subject of dharma is established, the dharma to be proven of permanence does not pervade anything. It is also not the sign of result, because permanence is not suitable for functioning successively and simultaneously, and there is no result of it, and also because no other result different from it has been promised. Therefore, if it is so, then for the nature of such knowledge, there is no valid means of establishment, and there are means of harm such as direct perception, so knowledge should not be in the form of permanence. Furthermore, to show that the establishment of bondage and liberation is also not established for this school, it is like "inversion and" and so on. By what means does it perish moment by moment, and the many knowledges of each individual enter into different streams? For that school, due to the arising of inverted and non-inverted streams of knowledge, the establishment of bondage and liberation is unreasonable. Because through the gradual practice of yoga, completely pure knowledge arises from higher to higher, liberation is attained from the cessation of the stream of completely impure knowledge, for the sake of the meaning of attaining liberation.

Effort is with fruition. In any case, how can the person who is the nature of a single consciousness, which you call "I" as the eternal and solitary nature of consciousness, be bound and liberated? Thus, if consciousness is always of the nature of perversion, then liberation will not be established because there is no other state. If it is not perverted, then because it is always of the nature of complete purity, it will not be bound. We think that because the continuums are different, there are those who are completely defiled and pure, therefore, it is not reasonable to establish bondage and liberation. As it is said: Completely defiled and completely pure, That is with stain and without stain. If defilement were not like that, All embodied beings would be liberated. If complete purity were not like that, Effort would become fruitless. It is like saying that. If bondage and liberation are only imputed, but not ultimately true, then a reason must be given for the imputation as well. The reason has already been shown for the side of impermanent consciousness. If that is the case, then your effort to meditate on suchness in order to attain liberation and to transcend samsara will only be exhausted in fruitless labor, which is shown by "practicing yoga" and so on. If a yogi, by meditating on suchness, can slightly avert or enter, then this effort will be with fruition. Thus, for the time being, this does not act perversely, because this perversion is its nature, because consciousness is of an eternal nature, therefore it cannot be abandoned, because eternity is indestructible, therefore it is impossible to abandon. Meditating on the consciousness of suchness also does not accomplish, because it is its nature, because consciousness is of an eternal nature, therefore the consciousness of suchness exists at all times. Therefore, this is not reasonable. The eleventh chapter, the examination of the self of the secret lord, from the condensed commentary on the difficult points of suchness. Done by Sthavira's son.
