There are three observations. Among them, if it is the first view, then it is to establish with what has already been established. For example, we think that eyes, etc., are helpful to our consciousness, because it is said in the scriptures that from relying on the eye and form to produce eye consciousness, to relying on the body and what is to be known to produce body consciousness. However, if it is the second view, then in order to show that the reason is contradictory at that time, it is said "unchanging benefit." Unchanging, that is, constant benefit is the unchanging benefit. If it is established by the eyes, etc., then since it contradicts what is to be established in the example, the reason itself is contradictory. For example, mattresses and cushions, etc., are movable, and impermanence is helpful, because it cannot help unchanging things. If the distinction between ordinary behavior and non-behavior is eliminated, and only other meaning is established, if it is the third view, then at that time it is also to establish with what has already been established, because the eyes, etc., want to help the mind. If, as promised by the logician, it is also promised that the mind is the dharma to be established, even so, your wishes will not be fulfilled, because I do not think that I and the mind are different. The meaning that the logician clearly intends has not been established either, because they help each other, so it is thought that the eyes, etc., are helpful to others. Other itself is interdependent like this shore and the other shore. The mind is produced by holding the benefits produced by many causes, and the collection itself is analyzed, so the reason has not been established either. Therefore, in the abbreviated difficult explanation, the self-analysis that is universally analyzed by the Samkhyas is the ninth. The one wearing the sky garment, in order to refute the self that is universally analyzed, said, "Like the Victorious One's measure, the Victorious One." The Victorious One refers to those wearing the sky garment. They say that the self is only the nature of the mind, and it is real.

In terms of essence, it is of the nature of following because the phases are different, but the phased things are not different. In terms of categories, it is said to be of the nature of returning because each phase is different. These two natures are also established by direct perception, so they do not need to be established by other valid cognitions. For example, although the various phases of happiness and so on are different, the sentient being who is the nature of the phased thing, focusing on all phases, is the substance. Categories are the various different phases of happiness and so on that occur sequentially. That those are also established by direct perception is the thought of others. To this, one responds with "To this also" and so on. There are two aspects to this: the substance that is the nature of the sentient being, when associated with categories, sometimes does not change, such as the previously existing sentient being and so on, is it associated with its own essence, or is it associated with abandoning the previous essence? To this, if it is said to be the latter view, then at that time permanence would collapse, because there is no phased thing at all. If it is said to be the first view, "unchanging essence," then at that time the previous and later phases would pervade it, because it does not exist in another way. It cannot be said that consciousness will definitely not completely change, because completely changing is characterized by transforming into other things. One wants to completely change. The syllogism is: whatever does not differ in the previous and later phases does not completely change, like space. The sentient being does not differ in all phases, this is because the pervader is not seen. Place, time, and nature, etc. With "place, time, and nature, etc." and so on, one welcomes the doubt that the reason of the other's system is not established, for example, if the substance is completely different from the various categories, then at that time it would become without difference, as long as place, time, and nature are not different, the substance and categories are considered to be one, and the differences of number and so on are different. Among them, number is one and many, etc. For example, the substance has one number, while happiness and so on
