The respondent answers: The object of self-grasping is not established, because it is empty in its mode of being. The reason is that whatever is empty in a certain way is not the object of that thing. For example, eye consciousness is not the object of sound. The consciousness that thinks 'I am' is also empty in the mode of self, which indicates that the pervasion is not visible. To show that this reasoning is not unestablished, words such as 'For it, constant and pervasive, etc.' are used. Like this, the self is considered to have qualities such as being constant, pervasive, mindless, etc., but in the consciousness of 'I am,' the appearance of constancy, etc., is also not obvious. However, the difference is that I am pale, another person, thin, tormented by strong feelings, etc., because these are produced by the contact of bodily states, so know that this self-grasping that appears with characteristics such as pale complexion is the self-grasping produced by the contact of bodily states, and is focused on the body, etc. The term 'clearly' means to enter clearly, without error. If so, then any elucidator, etc., will attach this self to the body, which is the place of enjoyment. For example, the king says to an obedient servant, 'I am that person, this is my servant.' Saying this is clear. Like this, if this were an ordinary person, then it would enter erroneously. In the world, for lions and Brahmin children, it would not be possible to enter without error, thinking that they are both lions, because they are real and imputed. Because seeing 'my body, etc.' is different, thinking that the body, etc., is 'I' is an erroneous entry, because this would lead to an erroneous entry into the self. Because also to the self is seen the difference of 'my self.' If it is said that this is an imputed difference, then it is the same for one knowledge. Then, why is the knowledge that 'I am pale,' etc., considered to be real? Even so, why would I not become the object of this? Therefore, it is said 'in its own nature,' etc.

It is the nature of Karshama and others. Because it does not have qualities such as form. Thus, for a while, it is shown that it is not reasonable to be the object of pride, the self, because it is empty of that aspect. It also shows that it is not reasonable because it would be a fault if there were no dispute about it. As it says: If a man is also the self. Those who have it, etc., mean the existence, permanence, pervasiveness, etc. of that self. How do you here Although it has been directly perceived, if you think that the moment of arising of blue, etc., which is not different from its nature, is disputed, then it will also turn to me. Thus it is said: Thus, etc. Although blue, etc. are grasped by direct perception, it is reasonable to argue about the moment, etc. that are not different from it. It is said that direct perception is uncertain because it is the nature of non-discrimination, so the momentariness, etc. are uncertain. It is not reasonable in your sect. It is said that my awareness is with discrimination, so it is the nature of certainty, so I am certain. What is disputed, there is no consciousness of increase that holds the aspect contrary to the object that is determined by certainty. It is said that they are the nature of what is to be harmed and what can be harmed because they do not arise together. That certainty is the realization of the meaning of each of the certainties. If they are not certain, then they will only become ungrasped. Therefore, in order to eliminate other sects, it is to establish one's own sect. Therefore it is said: Therefore, etc. The combination is, whatever arises in sequence, they are not those who are combined with me. For example, seeds and sprouts, etc. Happiness, etc. are also those who arise in sequence, which is the manifestation of contradiction. It is contrary to being combined with me, because it is combined with non-self, it is pervasive and arises in sequence. Because the cause is not completely absent, because it is close, it becomes what should arise at once, which is the measure of harm removal. Also, whatever has the nature of things, and the nature of being made, and the nature of having birth, etc., that
