It is because of the contradiction. The sign of self-nature does not exist either, because the very nature of what is said to be Brahman is not established. If the nature of the subject is not established, then the dharma that has become its nature will not be established as its own continuum. If it becomes another sign, is it okay? It says, "Except for those," etc., because other than self-nature and result, others are not related to the meaning to be proven. A sign that is not related is also not reasonable, because it would be too extreme. Whatever things are said to be the nature of sound, following sound, whatever is said is not established, and because it is false, it is not possible to prove that the ultimate Brahman is the nature of sound. It is not established in the scriptures either, because it does not abide. Whatever is said to have an invisible sign, it is thought that it belongs to the category of the reason of self-nature. Or because one wants to say that existence is established. For the same reason, it is said, "The establisher of existence is not always existent." Furthermore, know that Brahman cannot accomplish things merely by knowledge. Because it is not accomplished, its non-existence is the characteristic of non-things. To show this, it is said, "Having the order of knowledge," etc., this also shows that the self-existent is always existent from the beginning. Other than that, the reason for taking and abandoning is called other different from blue, etc. Or "from that" is the conclusion. "Other" is that itself. Similar to the son of a barren woman, the son of a barren woman is established in non-things, and there is no other reason than being separated from the ability to accomplish things. If it is said like this: Brahman is the supreme self-nature, which is not obtained and is the follower of the law of definitely good results, seen by yogis, it is also unreasonable, etc. If the knowledge of yoga practice has such an effect, then at that time yoga.

If yogis can see its nature, then this is not reasonable. Because for the consciousness as previously stated, there is no function of it. If it is thought that yogis can see it by generating consciousness with it as the object, that is not possible. Because apart from it, there are no other yogis and yogic consciousness. However, if it is thought that in the state of yoga, when the nature of self-illuminating essence manifests, yogis can see it, then, if so, it should be explained what its nature is like in the state of non-yogis before. If it is said that it is the nature of constant illumination, then the state of non-yogis will never exist, because Brahman is the nature of constant self-illumination. If this is the case, then everything will become unnecessary to strive for. Or, if, like in your dream states, even if consciousness is non-dual, it will appear to hold various forms. Similarly, even if it is non-dual, it will appear that way to those whose continuums are impure due to the power of ignorance. If this is thought, that is not correct. Because apart from those to whom it will appear in that way, there is no other impure continuum. If it is said that Brahman itself appears that way, then this would lead to no liberation, because Brahman is the nature of appearing entirely as a dualistic entity. For us, because other pure consciousnesses will arise, it is reasonable to attain liberation. But for you, by what means will it appear that way? Because apart from it, there is no ignorance. Or, it is said that by the power of indivisible ignorance, it itself will appear that way, this is the correct explanation. Or, if it is thought that by the power of ignorance, it will manifest, then this will make its ignorant nature manifest. If so, then the fault of no liberation will become even more clear. The constant, unique essence of Brahman, which is liberated by being free from ignorance, abides in the nature of ignorance.
