This statement refers to the fact that there is no confusion about external objects, including the objects themselves, and that in the ultimate truth, it is not correctly determined as the manifestation of the mind, but it is considered to be the meaning of sound. It does not refer to the confusion that arises from clinging to different things and thinking that they are not different, which has mutually contradictory reasons. If, like us, we say: If this is the case, the conceptual thought that clings to things as one is a delusion, and whatever has name and meaning is the seed of mutual difference. Then, this is using an established fact to prove an established fact. As they say: If mutually different things are this seed, this is our view. The eliminators (referring to the Vaisheshika school) say that the meaning of sound in the ultimate truth is neither an external object, nor a manifestation of the mind, nor anything else. Like this, whatever necessarily appears in the knowledge arising from sound is the meaning of sound. But the manifestation of the mind does not necessarily arise from the knowledge arising from sound. Then what is it? It is the external object that can function. But from the ultimate truth, the external object is not necessarily determined, because the external object itself is not determined as it is, and what is determined as it is is not the external object itself. Therefore, fabrication itself is the meaning of sound. And whatever is fabricated is nothing, so sound cannot correctly express anything at all. Again, what is the meaning of sound? The answer is, it is the thing itself. This statement is fabricating by connecting sound with things. But the mind-manifestation theorists believe that in the ultimate truth, the manifestation of the mind can be expressed, so the difference is very great. Others say that because of habit, sound is the cause of confidence, not the expression of external objects. This is what is to be explained, such as "all sounds" and so on. Seeing sounds appearing repeatedly on certain objects is habit. And to prove definitively, to distinguish the object of action, and the wisdom that corresponds to it, is confidence. This is produced by seeing the action of combination, and it is different for different languages and different people. This difference is infinite, the sound of

If it is thought that names and terms are limitless and cannot be expressed, then it is said, "In brief." To illustrate this, for example, "understanding the meaning," and so on, such as elephants caught with iron hooks, etc., become the cause for the act of understanding their meaning, etc. Similarly, all things like wood, etc., that are considered to have meaning in words, just like steps, merely become the cause for approaching and gathering, but do not actually reveal the meaning. If it were not so, how could different words that contradict each other, and the differences in things arranged by the narrator's own conceptualization, be made clear? To this, the answer is given with "To this," etc.: If it is thought that the meaning of existence is the nature of one's own characteristics, etc., as previously stated, then one would fall into the faults previously mentioned. Furthermore, if the meaning of existence is to negate the nature of difference, and it is expressed solely by words, then different terms such as cow, heifer, elephant, etc., would not be used, because that is because the words do not indicate it. The cow itself is the difference in the meaning of words, etc., this is to welcome the necessity of another's answer, thinking: the cow itself and the words merely understand the difference in the meaning of existence, separated from differences such as variegation, the words understand, because it is the cause of understanding, therefore it is, therefore it will become different words. If you think like this, then how can you think that the meaning of mere existence is the meaning of words? Because it is clearly the understanding of the differences of cows, etc., because of doubt, so others answer: horns and shapes, etc. The differences of horns, etc., are not manifested from words, because it is the cause of non-understanding, so it is said that there are some meanings to understand it, it is not that the words of the cow itself, etc., which become differences, are not understood, so there is no fault. If it is so, then the answer is given with "If it is so," etc.: If it is thought that the cow itself, etc., merely expresses the meaning of having differences, then at that time it would become a commitment to express the meaning corresponding to it. For this, it is also to prevent merging with that category.
