Also, it is not, because it is of one nature. For example, impermanent things such as Emblica officinalis have differences arising from differences in fields, etc. Therefore, they themselves possess the power to pacify diseases, etc. If this is the case, other things such as pots are also the same. Because they arise in that way from causes and conditions, they naturally transform into a single kind of recognition, etc. Therefore, there is no fault. Similar recognition, etc., the sound of "etc." refers to the ability to perform the function of holding water, etc. Furthermore, how can the establishment of conventions, etc., with intervals in between, be accomplished? Having mentioned only the fruit, etc., for those who have not established conventions, the knowledge of existence, etc., does not arise. Otherwise, the establishment of conventions would become meaningless. Therefore, clinging to one aspect, this is merely to indicate the ability to function as an interval. Desiring to come without abandoning other distinctions, one combines the sounds. Establishing conventions or how to like, the other is also called the sound of other things. Similarly, the sound of distinctions such as cows, if one wants to understand the distinctions of abilities such as opposition, one should combine it with the establishment of conventions. If this is the case, at the time of convention, later at the time of terminology, for the cows, etc., that are seen, one should also establish conventions beforehand. From that, one should remember it. After that, the knowledge of existence, etc., arises, which is very clear. Some who are very familiar do not grasp these sequences because they arise very quickly, while those who are not familiar grasp them very clearly. Therefore, this is called the conclusion. Therefore, it is like that. Therefore, if it is like that, because of the interval caused by the establishment of conventions, etc., they do not arise directly. Therefore, these are not established as direct perception. Even if they arise indirectly, they should not be direct perception, because it would be too extreme. That is what is thought. Because it is remembrance, like remembrance different from this, the knowledge of existence, etc., should not be direct perception. To show this. First, contemplate.

It is said, "without," and so on. Because it does not indicate its own nature, it does not understand the meaning of what is seen. The self-nature of things is the object itself, mixed with speech, so the consciousness that exists first, apart from the Dharma, arises dependent on the senses. From this, later, the same object that is seen is indicated. After that, as it is indicated, how can the consciousness of saying "exists," etc., arise for the very meaning of what is seen, with the certainty of the object of the meaning of what is seen, and not become the establishment of memory? "Also from this" means how from the certainty of what is seen. "Those" refers to the consciousness of "exists," and so on. Furthermore, from where is it known that this order of arising of consciousnesses is certain? It is said, "other," and so on. Because those consciousnesses of "exists," etc., arise in this order, therefore, the mind that turns to other, that is, the distracted mind. Seeing the object in front of you, attending to the indication of the object, etc., entering into manifestation, at first, one only sees the mere object that is devoid of all distinctions. If this is not the case, if all consciousnesses are associated with conceptual thought, then how can one see an object that is devoid of all distinctions when the mind is turned elsewhere? It is not reasonable for two conceptual thoughts to arise simultaneously. Therefore, it is not established that one directly follows the senses and follows conceptual thought in this way. To this, "cow, elephant, etc.," what is said is that those indicate from indication, etc. If, in general, the reason for the connection of following is only established as the reason for these, then, like this, the connection that follows the names of the consciousnesses of cow, etc., is only indicating the indication of cow, etc. Like this, if it exists, it arises, and if an attention of a different kind exists, it does not arise, therefore, it itself, which has following and reversal, is established as the cause of these. The cause of following and reversal that belongs there is established, that is, after following and reversing its existence and non-existence itself.
