Furthermore, if that is the case, how can something that does nothing at all become its support? Since it is the cause of existence related to it, it is also unreasonable to say that this helps it, because its relationship itself is not established. It is also unreasonable for the cause itself to be existence, because it has already been explained that permanence is not reasonable anywhere. Furthermore, is this object to be established its own unstable nature? Or will it become a dependent nature? If it is an unstable nature, how can it be established by others? Because its nature will be destroyed. If it is said to be a dependent nature, even so, there is nothing that can make it stay, because it is its own stable nature, and it itself is established to stay. Furthermore, for the time being, if those objects that have bodies are dependent on preventing falling downwards, then what about happiness and so on, which are not bodily, so there is no downward movement, what will become the support? Existence and non-existence are inseparable, and there is no expression closer than this, so it is not reasonable to become a support. In this way, happiness and so on, and others, are not established as supports, so I think there is no such thing as merit. Furthermore, others have already promised that mind is self-nature, as it is said, mind, object, and consciousness are not transformed into other meanings. Even if it is such a nature, others do not recognize the nature of self-awareness, but mind is to be understood by others, and becoming like that is like form and so on, because it is not established from itself, so it shows that it is not reasonable to be mind. Happiness and, suffering and, desire and, hatred and, effort and so on, are also considered to be the nature of consciousness that is not nature, and it will also hinder the investigation of the characteristics of the standard. Just like heaviness and, wetness and, oiliness and so on, one should establish refutation, and after determining this, without refuting these, refuting the combined Dharma is an indirect expression.
