If one follows, one might think, "Will all the natures follow?" This will also later become a teacher. Then, how did the Blessed One say that a sprout is not permanent? Because the sprout is different, and the seed is also different. What is a sprout is not the seed itself. Therefore, it is said that a sprout arises from a similar seed. Therefore, it is called non-transferring. This also shows the examination of what has been said uncertainly. Or, are those unmixed natures of aggregates, etc., also merging into their own natures in various periods, as some who speak of transfer in the Sarvastivadins say? It is not like that, it is said. When saying non-transferring, if it were to transfer, then because all natures exist, it would not be possible to produce even a little, therefore one would think that dependent arising itself is not possible. For the aggregates, etc., there is no transfer of flowing in various periods, thus connecting the sentences. To this, the Blessed One said, as it is said: When the eye arises, it does not come from anywhere, and when it ceases, it does not go by merging into anywhere. Monks, the eye arises from not having arisen, and having arisen, it will also perish. This also shows the examination of the three times. Or, how is this? As the Lokayatas say: For those who have died and turned to ashes, where is there any rebirth? Like this, does it arise only at the time of seeing? It is not like that, it is said. When saying without beginning or end, to this, there is no beginning or end, thus connecting the sentences. This is also what the Blessed One said to the monks, that the birth of samsara is without beginning or end, etc. Beginning refers to the first, and end refers to the last. By preventing those, it is called without beginning or end. This is also said in the case of not having generated the noble path, but for those who have generated the noble path, samsara is indeed finite. For that very reason, it is said: For children who do not understand the true Dharma, samsara is long. This also

The examination of observing dependent arising has been explained. Now, is this dependent arising the nature of external objects, or is it merely the nature of mind-only? Like images and so forth. Thus it is said. This indicates that it is the nature of mind-only. Just as images and fire wheels, and cities of gandharvas, etc., are the nature of mind-only, so too is this. The Blessed One also said: Just as children observe, external objects do not exist. The mind, agitated by habitual tendencies, appears as objects. This also elucidates the examination of external objects. Therefore, having explained that dependent arising is separate from the similarity of meaningless conceptualizations as previously stated, in order to conclude, it is said, "the collection of all elaborations," and so forth. The collection of all elaborations, such as having the cause of self-nature as previously stated, is assembly, liberation from it. Now, do other deities such as Vishnu, Great Ishvara, and Prithvi, etc., also understand it in the same way? The answer is no. It is said, "Others do not understand." All non-Buddhists are attached to viewing the non-real "self" as real, this inverted view is the unique unshared wisdom of the Blessed One himself. This will also be shown in all examinations. If so, then is this dependent arising that has become such known and spoken by the Blessed One himself? Or, as the debaters say: Therefore, objects beyond the senses cannot actually be seen. By some eternal language, what is seen is not truly seen. Like this, is it known and spoken based on the Vedas, which are considered by others to be non-human-made? The answer is no. It is said, "Not dependent on independent hearing." Independent hearing refers to that which has become a measure from itself, that is, the term called "eternal language." Not being related to this means not relying on it.
