If it enters, then at that time it is not a cause, because it does not do anything at all for the accomplishment of its fruit. In order to show that it does not do anything at all, it is "already born" and so on. The so-called "not dwelling elsewhere" means not dwelling elsewhere, that is, it will certainly not change, which is a synonym for saying that it will be endless. If what is already born is also to be born, then at that time, because there is no difference, it will become the fault of being born again. Therefore, birth will become endless, and the cause will not be separated from the action. The cause will also become the fault of being born, because there is no difference. If this is done, it will not be established as promised by the Vaibhashikas. Therefore, ending with "therefore" and so on is to show that the tenet of permanence is refuted. Because there is no promise, the distinction of destruction is also unreasonable. As promised by the Vaibhashikas, if it is promised that the third moment and so on will produce a result, then at that time it will become a promise to produce a result from a destroyed cause. This tenet is not ours either, because it is unreasonable. When will it become the fault of being simultaneous? Just as those Vaibhashikas themselves admit the cause of simultaneous arising, if the result is desired in the first moment. This is also unreasonable, why? It is said "non-existent first ability" and so on, arising simultaneously, when producing the result, is the cause unborn? Or is it born by being born? For the time being, it is not possible to say unborn, because that is non-existent before the result is produced, and if it does not exist, it is also empty of all abilities. So, when is it born, at that time because of the ability, will it produce? It is said "when there is ability, the result is already produced." If it has the ability in the state of being born, then at that time, because of its own nature, the result has also been produced, then where does this ability need to approach?

From this perspective, if one asserts that cause and effect exist simultaneously, it contradicts inference. But aren't the natures of cause and effect action and agent? However, it is contradictory in different times. If the pot and the potter are not simultaneous, then the entity of action and agent is not seen. If it is said, "Why does it turn simultaneously?" then it is said, "Why does it turn simultaneously," and so on. If, by the manner of holding together, the cause produces the effect as an action, or if, like a young woman embracing, the effect also arises from its own cause and clings to it, then it establishes the action of self-generation? In that case, it will necessarily become simultaneous. As long as the various things are actions, in reality, it is only nominally designated as Dharma; other than that, there is no agent or action alone. This is the general meaning. What is called nature is the cause. If it is said that if the cause or effect is devoid of action, then how do speakers know that fire produces smoke and smoke arises dependent on fire? Therefore, it is said, "Because of the certainty of being produced by its own cause," and so on. Because of the power of the cause produced by its own cause and conditions, for the cause that is determined separately, if it is asked what is the difference in the effect that arises in the first moment, it is the one that arises in the second moment. How can it exist in the second moment? Thus, connect the sentences. It is said that that cause is the producer of that effect. The term "producer" is a metaphor for proximity, and it should be known that it arises dependent on that. Furthermore, who are those who speak in this way? Therefore, it is said, "Only by desire," and so on. Without relying on external meaning, only speaking according to desire, those who establish names in accordance with conventional terms speak in this way. If it is said that if a thing has already arisen, is it not devoid of action? How can it become a cause? Therefore, it is said, "Because of arising, it is a different time," and so on. Because the effect is accomplished immediately after the cause exists, the action that arises later because of the cause has no action at all on the effect.

Therefore, it is just so. What is meant by the function of a cause? It means that which accomplishes the production of a result immediately after it. Because a result arises immediately after the existence of a cause, existence itself should be expressed by the term "function," but what is the use of examining a function other than arising? If things have no function, how should one say that the result depends on the cause and the cause acts on the result? Answer: That which is immediately certain. It is said, and so on. The result depends on the cause, which is this, that which arises subsequently. The cause also acts on the result, which is this, that which is close in every way at the time of the result's arising. Furthermore, you should take the function or the thing with function as the result of the cause, because it exists only when it exists. There is no other way to understand the nature of cause and result than by following and reversing. Therefore, if that is the case, why not consider the thing itself as the cause? The result is not unknown except by following and reversing, which belong to the thing itself. Therefore, wherever following and reversing occur, it is established that the result is the thing itself, which is superior, showing dependence on existence, such as when it exists. The so-called thoroughly conceptualized means that any function of a nature that is different, both, or neither, is thoroughly conceptualized by you, which is the meaning of this. The so-called "possessing that" means possessing a function, that when it exists, it is only arising, which is the cause, should be combined with the sentence. The so-called "that itself" means that the thing itself, free from the function of the dissimilar, is the cause, which is the meaning of this. What is the difference in what is said to be superior? Answer: As it is said, seed, etc. It means that existence, that is, when the thing itself is empty of other functions such as seed, etc. This means that after realizing that all results are only things
