Well then, the first case is not valid. If it is admitted that destruction arises from non-existence itself, then the result would become causeless. If that is the case, it would lead to faults such as permanence. The second case is also not valid, because things abide in multiple moments, which would lead to things not being momentary. 'How can it not be destroyed?' This means destruction itself. Like this, first a thing arises, then it engages in activity, from that it produces a result, and later it is destroyed. Like this, because one thing has multiple moments, the moment will not be destroyed. Thus, it is shown that the cause and effect of things are unreasonable, and in order to show that the valid cognition of those who cling to them is unreasonable, it is said 'momentary abiding vase etc.' etc. What establishes the cause and effect of things is direct perception and non-apprehension. If things are momentary, then they do not abide even at the time of their own cognition, therefore the thing is only direct perception, and it is unreasonable for the cause and effect of things to exist simultaneously. If that is the case, then direct perception and non-apprehension are completely non-existent. The nature of the self that focuses on things that are not mixed with other things is also the nature of the distinction of direct perception. Therefore, if there is no object of focus, then it is also unreasonable. How can direct perception and non-apprehension become the establisher of the cause and effect of things? Even if it is admitted that things are objects of focus, even so, because there is nothing that connects the previous and subsequent moments, the relationship cannot be established, and in order to show this, it is said 'Who is the agent of complete destruction?' etc. Cognition is the object of focus. This is sequential and also cognition, so it is sequential cognition. Who connects them? The connector is no one. If someone thinks that because this fire is recognized, this smoke etc. is recognized, and if this is not recognized, it will not be unrecognized, like this, to the sequential cognition...

Prison is bondage, it is a cage. Efforts to seek liberation are also meaningless, because there is no liberation. To explain this, it is said, "Whatever is bound," and so on. However, only that which is unbound can be liberated. If so, what contradiction is there in this? It is said, "Iron," and so on, because it is commonly known and seen in the world that what is bound can be liberated. If one vows that what is unbound can be liberated, this contradicts worldly fame and direct perception. It is thought that the vow contradicts direct perception and fame. Refuting with inference, it is also said, "Those who are bound and liberated," and so on. The argument is, whatever is bondage and liberation, those are one basis, just like worldly bondage and liberation. The latent tendencies that are the basis of contention, and the nature of being separated from them, those are also bondage and liberation, this is the reason of self-nature. Those refer to bondage and liberation. The reason for existing in that way is because it exists in the nature of bondage and liberation, because it is the essence of bondage and liberation, that is the meaning to be expressed. Therefore, because it is established as the nature of one basis. Everything exists very beautifully in the relationship of karma and result, etc., meaning that it exists very reasonably, because there is no fault as mentioned above. These very modes themselves indicate that because there is no one agent, it should be realized that the previously mentioned memory, certainty, entrusting and receiving, etc., are impossible. Moreover, if the bases are different, then it will fall into the fault of contradicting what is seen, etc. What is experienced, doubted, entrusted, desired, etc. by a black person, it is impossible for a loving person to remember, ascertain, receive, and be separated from feeling, etc. Answering with "To this, a statement," etc., even if it is selfless, this establishment of the relationship of karma and result for phenomena is a thorough distinction between cause and effect themselves.
